We've seen a smattering of DCUs sealed in unlabeled multipacks like this one.  That's an Amalgam Assassins #1 hidden in there as the middle comic so this pack has one 1994 comic and two from 1996. Given the variety of dates contained within a single pack and the assorted contents, I wonder when these were packaged and sold... maybe in the 1996 to 1997 timeframe?

Most of the books I've seen in the unlabeled multipacks have cover dates from June to December 1996, though they also often include books from previous years, like October 1994 and even an April 1995.  I think you are correct that these were probably released in that range.

I've added a section to the DC Collector's 2 (& 3) Pack Image Gallery for these but I am sure fellow boardies have more of these packs to show off!

I've just about finished an overhaul of the DC Collector's Pack Image Gallery (20 packs).  Among various error corrections, additions, and formatting fixes, I have added missing interior content photos for most months (I am still missing March, April, and August 1994).  I've also added info for the October 1993 16 pack.  I'm still working on adding tabs for all the box sets; Green Lantern and Flash sets are done.

While working on this, I did make a few discoveries.  I've confirmed two different May 1994 bricks, one with Green Lantern #51, First Print and the other with Green Lantern #51, Second Print.  Several other comics in this month have indicia variations.  Green Lantern #51, Second Print have been documented in both versions of the content label (with or without the Item #), so far I've only seen Green Lantern #51, First Print in the label with the Item #.

I also started documenting and adding content sticker/label variations.  From October '92 to May '95, there are over 55 confirmed bricks, and I speculate a handful of others are out there.  Before anyone gets too excited, the comics within the bricks appear to generally be consistent from label to label (and multipack editions didn't appear until the November 1993 bricks).  These likely were packaged for specific retailers.  Some months only have two confirmed versions, October 1993 actually has four (including the 16 pack). There are a few examples below (note the different bar codes, some with pricing info and some without, etc.).

Two labels for the 20 count November 1993 brick:

Three labels for the 20 pack October 1993 brick:

And the 16 pack for October 1993:

Here a November 1994 brick that had a corrective sticker over the printed UPC that was missing the pricing info compared to the normal version:

If anyone is interested in falling down that particular rabbit hole or wants to see a complete list of the various content labels for the bricks, you can make a copy of the inventory template I made here (Google Drive).  Feel free to edit/ adapt it for personal use (use the filters to show or hide what you want to see-- the * in "Storage Location" column is meant to allow you to quickly filter to just a list of 1 brick for each month).  I hope to share some other DCU inventory templates once I've finished error checking them and adding a bit more info.

If anyone has any sealed bricks with content label versions not documented yet, or can definitively link a particular label version to a retailer, I'd be thrilled to see them!

You are off the deep end, my friend!    (worship)
