trmoore54
Seriously...these guys put forth so many trim jobs I have to imagine they have their own trim-lab. Of course, they've been at it for years... Wonder what the grade was pre-trimming... http://www.ebay.com/itm/X-Men-1-Vol-1-Original-1963-CBCS-9-4-Like-CGC-Signed-Stan-Lee-Super-High-Grade-/251817419976?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aa17ce4c8
NinjaSealed
I just noticed this today. This is what they apparently did to a book they bought off me a few weeks ago. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-Lantern-76-Vol-1-Super-High-Grade-Green-Lantern-Arrow-Stories-Begin-/251816126306?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3aa1692762 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Green-Lantern-76-VG-VG-Neal-Adams-Art-Green-Arrow-Bronze-Age-DC-Comics-/171645251697?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item27f6dab071 If you have any respect or love for comics you would never do business with these guys. NinjaSealed
I feel pretty sick about it. That book was part of my collection and I really liked it but I needed to raise some funds for something and wanted to upgrade anyways. Wish I had them on my blocked buyers list before, but at least I fixed that mistake.
Steviehuv66
The photos of the comics are similar to another site called Silveragemintcomics.com. That individual also sold trimmed and restored comics. He passed them off as warehouse finds and never read. I believe that site is now closed. vader2001
Well at least he is saying they are trimmed, even the ASM #1.
RCheli
They at least say that it's trimmed. So they have that going for them. Right?

Doktor
Well, if it's any consolation, it makes actual older books a little more valuable by cutting the supply down by 1? Not really a silver lining or anything. Just a willful destruction of perfectly good comics.

It would help if people knew his real name. Of course the board police would probably balk at the idea of such information being made publicly available. Yeah, it's Hammer. You can tell by the writing style/language. And, if that isn't tip off enough, the eBay feedback link takes you to his old Robojo ID. techtre2003
Here is their ASM 50 they have listed. Description says "100% complete". Looks more like 98% or so
Doktor
Someone just needs to ask them for photos of the books with a tape measure or ruler laid up against them. and then post the obviously trimmed measurements. Point Five
Whoa! How does it make any sense to 'restore' books like this. Surely they're losing more bidders than they're gaining?

Doktor
Newer comic fans that want to buy up older things but don't yet have the knowledge to recognize stuff like trimming or its effect on value/grade. They'd chalk it up to "misprinting" or something rather than "someone stuck it in a %#@#$($# paper shear!" Believe me, they're out there. Or just casual hobbyists that get too excited about finding that book that they want to calm down & look at it logically & question why it looks a little bit off.
