True enuff.

But IM1 was great, then they made IM2 and then IM3. I've stopped wanting it.

I didn't mind IM2 nearly as much as most did it seems. I never could get past the direction they took with Mandarin in IM3 unfortunately.

Well, thankfully for those that do continue to want the movies, you aren't a Disney exec! :baiting:

People gripe that the science is not up to snuff in these movies. The science, in a movie about comic book superheroes that can shrink themselves and control ants with their mind, is weak. Really?

Just wipe your mind when you sit down, enjoy the witty wisecracks and fast paced fight scenes, and try to appreciate that you're alive and it's okay to smile and be happy. Stop being so cool.

I tend to switch off when I'm watching a film, rather than hyperanalyse the science. I wouldn't expect the science in Ant-Man to be any better than that in 'The Incredible Shrinking Man', but it doesn't stop the latter from being a brilliant, classic, science-fiction film.

Exactly. Some people seem only to want to nit pick everything to death.

Seriously its the law of diminishing returns... We're already there in fact.

I like films, I go and watch films at the cinema, every week multiple times. I know films

Mark my words... They carry on this path the end is nigh for the MCU.

It's unfortunate that these days it's much cooler to hate something for what it isn't, than appreciate it for what it is.

Half the people gripe there's too much action, the other half say there's not enough.

First time anyone's ever accused me of being too cool.

I'm not hating on the films, I just want them to rethink the direction. Because they will begin to fail otherwise.

In the immortal words of Tony Stark during the Civil War storyline, "You can't just be against something - you have to be for something better."

So what do you suggest? hm

I loved evey movie so far.

IM2....I liked it

IM3....I liked it

Thor 1 and 2 liked them both

saw two days ago Ant Man and it was very cool too.

my take is that those are comic based movies, no need to think too much, just sit on the thrater and enjoy them.

I am sure I'll enjoy all the upcoming movies...

What happened was Netflix Daredevil, Captain America: Winter Soldier and GoTG set the bar so high that the rest of them have a high standard to follow.

The worst thing I did was binge watch Netflix Daredevil before going to see Avengers: Age of Ultron.

If I had watched Avengers: Age of Ultron before Netflix Daredevil, than I probably would have enjoyed it more.

Ant-Man was funny, enjoyable viewing and when the blu-Ray comes out I will buy it and watch it again.

Age of Ultron bored me to tears after the first half hour and a movie I will not see again.

Don't see why people can't have a different opinion.

I don't think he's talking about having a difference of opinion.

I think he means people that just seem to trash everything in general. NO movies can live up to expectations. ALL chain restaurants are bad. EVERY sport is corrupt and unwatchable.

Those people. ;)

I don't understand the need to on a movie that hasn't even come out yet. Not even in production.

Seriously guys, would you just rather that they didn't make these movies? Whats wrong with just waiting and enjoying?

I've wanted a big budget Dr. Strange movie since I was a kid. If something happens to dash my hopes in the sand, I will not be pleasant to be around.

So I was thinking today about the direction the MCU is going in.

We've had some absolute cracking films such as IM1, Cap2, Av1, GotG... But then also some godawful turdtacular pieces of crapola such as IM2, AoU. Now because we have the whole of the next five years or so mapped out we have a 100% idea of what's coming...

That's a mistake.

All it's saying to the audience is that we have years and years of much of the same coming, it doesn't really matter if you go and see all of them or, in fact, none of them. It won't matter because it'll just be set pieces of action and comedy and then something blowing up at the end.

The well is running dry, in fact it ran empty about 7 minutes into AoU. I have a genuine fear that Cap3 will be the last actually good or even okay MCU film to see the light of day.

They need to tear up the road map and rethink the whole of the upcoming phases.

Fox has made some great Marvel films - also some ones, but at least they're not scared to try new things with the characters, the forthcoming FF film is a good example. Yeah it's not the FF from the comics, but at least it looks like something new and maybe interesting.

They need to dump Thanos and the Infinity stones. Heck I like Thanos! But for a film I can take my wife and nieces and nephews to watch? Nope, it's gonna suck.

And I feel the complete opposite of your stance...I think Marvels marketing and strategy plans have been incredibly brilliant with their treatment of the MCU, and had the foresight to do so from day one.

Genius...absolute genius.

It's not about having a difference of opinion - it's about those people who have to constantly announce how bad they believe something is.
