A pair of classics. Always liked the #54 better though. So intriguing and creepy…

I agree. #46 never did a lot for me, folks make it out to be more deviant than it is, it's just a kidnapping cover. It's more compelling than most of the covers after 1947, but would rank in the middle for me in terms of covers from the first three dozen issues

I have almost the entire run of CDNP.  Here's the cover, and page in color;

Thanks for posting those. We purchased the page in a batch of strip art and newspapers. It had info on it and took us a bit of research to track down the attributions.

This one does not seem to turn up often.

Only for us hard nosed seasoned collectors, LOL!  Here's the original, and the annual they took it from.  Notice the woman's clothing and hairdo, changed from 1944 to 1953 styles.

Notice in your original art page, the electricity symbols shooting out, absent in the "final cut".  Amazingly they apparently self censored the panel.

Picked these up from my local comic shop tonight from a collection they got in. Not sure what the High Sierra Collection is, but pretty cool to find in the wild and they’re really nice.

- Crime Clinic #10 (1951) Norman Saunders painted cover

- Official True Crime Cases Comics #24 (1947) 1st issue, picks up from Sub-Mariner Comics #23, Syd Shores cover

- Authentic Police Cases #1 (1948) Hale the Magician Begins/Bondage cover, Paul Parker cover

A hard choice to what is my favorite CDNP cover. So many classics. This one usually pops to mind first.
