jimbo_707
I recently picked up a handful of low-grade readers on eBay, so I'll be able to enjoy reading some Carl Barks stories this week. Only a few of them are even marginally collectible (due to the condition), but one of them features the first appearance of Gyro Gearloose. Barks did an amazing job with those 10-page DD stories.

It's been a long time since I've actively collected funny animal books, so it's probably been 15 or 20 years since I've read a Barks story. Can't beat the readability of these; even the strip reprints are fun to read.

AJD
I'm not sure what I think of that Van Gogh cover... it's kind of cool and kind of creepy. 1950's war comics
Foley
I agree on both accounts! I dig it, but it definitely has a creepy element too.

OtherEric
It's definitely not high grade, just a solid reader. But I'm very happy to finally add a copy to my collection:
AJD
Nice one OtherEric - everybody should have one of those. On the topic of Four Color ducks, check out Carl Barks' own copy of Four Color #29 in next week's Heritage auction. 1950's war comics
Duffman_Comics
Is the "This comic is the personal file copy of Carl Barks. Anyone else possessing the book has stolen it" notation on the book or the slab? I am leaning towards it being a "rubber stamp" on the book itself, but otherwise
