50YrsCollctngCmcs
Just one recent pickup. It's a pity this one picked up the spine wear during its life, because it's a lovely flat copy otherwise. Still a beaut!

tb
A couple of books that I find unusually beautiful. It's very rare to have attractive artwork, great colors, and a high technical grade come together, but, when it happens, it makes for some of my favorite moments as a collector. Bronty
LOVE LOVE LOVE the bullet valley in particular. Hard to find a more classic barks cover. The #27 is also awesome!
BitterOldMan
Love the FC 199. 9.4 is the second highest graded copy. I feel fortunate to own an 8.5. Thanks for sharing. All duck books are terrific. I enjoy them more than my superhero, and horror, and science fiction books.
Transplant
That FC 199 is amazing. Funny that I was just talking with someone who, just last week, was in Ohio and standing face to face with the pencil drawing for that cover.
tb
Thanks. The FC 199 is, along with a copy of FC 386, the most beautiful individual copies of any Four Color I've ever seen in person. I've seen many other Barks issues in the same or higher technical grade, but there's so much more to a book than the number.

Ebel 1911
This was part of the 7th War Loan drive to buy bonds and is a take on the classic Archibald Willard painting "The Spirit of '76":

AJD
Beautiful #238 there Mr B. A rare duck book I'd be happy to let live in a slab. With that one the Barks cover is excellent but the story is terrible. I was really pleased when Don Rosa re-used the cover and wrote a much better story to go with it. Badger
Great book! I would like one of these in about an 8/9 range. The few times I've seen one for sale, I've been to broke to buy it.
