tb
[...] US1 would be *the* duck cover to have. I guess it would probably be the single best duck/barks item existing, period (if it did, sniff!). I agree. Who knows if the FC 386 cover might still exist, though the chances are very slim at this point. Supposedly the FC 367 cover artwork was pulled aside because someone at Western thought it was too pretty to burn. Bangzoom, have you looked behind your closet recently? shiverbones
I agree it's a better cover, but for Bat people, That #11 is not only an absolutely classic Joker cover, but the 1st Joker cover in batman, and the earliest OA in existance for Bats & Joker. So I think to bat-fans, that piece is probably about equal to the clout of the 386 cover to duck fans. That being said, I think the duck fans would have deeper pockets with foreign interest. Blind Owl
Speaking of Ducks, I hope it's OK to add a couple of Older (non-Barks) Duck Books!!! This 1st one I posted on the Gerber 7 thread a few weeks ago, but would be fine here as well!!! You can tell it's an early Duck by the way Donald is portrayed. This one looks like the Donald we all know & love!!!

Try and look through the entire thread and at some point you should hit tb's phenomemal run of MMM. Just jaw dropping gorgeous copies

Blind Owl
Since it's been more than 18 months since last time, and since I've made a number of upgrades since then, I'll take the liberty to repeat my plea for Mickey Mouse Magazines. The scans below show part of my upgrades in the past 3 years. I've bought pretty much everything I could find and assembled a set of the best available copy of each issue. A large chunk of these are from various sets of file copies. I am particularly interested in VF or better copies from the 5th and last year which, curiously, has been the most elusive (I have a near complete VF run of the first 4 years). I'll pay well for any copy that will allow me to upgrade. ]]] Whoa!!!! I just saw this for the 1st time and I'm totally stunned by it!!! This to me is Incredible!!! I have never seen so many nice MMM copies in one place!!!! (worship)

Yeah, maybe "blow it out of the water" is a bit strong, but we agree it would be the more valuable of the two. tth2
but US1 would be *the* duck cover to have. I think fans of FC 199 might debate that.
Bronty
199 is nice artistically - so is 223 and others - but scrooge is the most popular character/title and I think US1 is probably the most recognizable duck cover there is. I don't think anything's going to beat US1 value-wise for that reason.

tb
I stopped keeping track of my upgrades a few years ago. I did manage to find high grade file copies of the last few V5 issues since then so I have the complete run in pretty decent shape now. Always looking for upgrades, of course! PS: Regarding Barks originals, I'd greatly appreciate any leads to inked pages or cut panels from the 40s or 50s.
