Walking Dead Season Six finale - Predictions?

Seriously, how does someone like this become a leader? He knows who the 2 strongest males are, so let's keep them alive... yup.

He's maintaining power the way all dictators throughout history have--fear of violence. He keeps the leaders of the communities he subjugates in place because a disorganized community is of no use to him. He was doing it to Hilltop as we learned last season--remember, the only reason Rick and his friends were there was to hunt down Negan so that the Hilltop didn't have to keep giving him tribute--and he's doing it to the community we'll see next week, too. He's not afraid of Rick because he has no reason to be. Rick's group is far smaller, less fierce, and less organized than his is. He thinks he's better off with Rick alive and staying in place as leader of Alexandria until Rick gives him reason to believe otherwise.

They played the clip of her getting clubbed from that longer sequence in the premiere episode when Rick had flashes of seeing them all get clubbed by Negan one by one.

I didn´t liked, to much violence . I had an unpleasent feeling when i finished watching ...

I am not either, but cmon this show has been killing people every episode. Anybody remember Season 4 The Grove? That to me was much worst and shocking.

This is what I think what happened.

We are all use to watching disney movies and have become Disneyfied.

We all want a good humor ending, but that's not The Walking Dead's world.

I am glad this episode disturbed people.

The creators of the show showed how realistic and evil humans can be to one another.

Like I said I am not a fan of this gore or Saw stuff, but the creators of The Walking Dead showed what kind of hell these characters live in. I rather have them show a realistic view of violence than Hollywood it.

The Walking Dead is like a Stephen King horror novel in that people should not expect My Little Pony endings.

I don't think there are many instances in history of a dictator allowing violent opposition to live or go unjailed. Rick threatened Negan - bat to the head. Darryl hit him - bat to the head. This didn't happen because it's Rick and Darryl, main hombres.

Any uprising would be dealt with quickly by eliminating the leaders, opposition inspires people to rebel and no dictator wants that. One of Negan's top guys would then be gifted Alexandria to run.

There are plenty of examples of it going both ways. The Roman empire mostly did what you're describing, whereas Genghis Khan frequently left conquered emperors in place while establishing the Mongolian Empire to avoid having to manage the territories he conquered.

Rick in the television show went much further by wiping out Negan's entire compound full of guys while they slept; the comic Rick never did that. But Negan also went much farther in breaking him than the comic Rick by spending the entire episode doing it. In the comic killing Glenn was enough, but in that premiere he killed the two guys, illustrated his physical prowess while in the trailer alone with Rick while going through the whole "go fetch my axe" thing, and still felt the need to threaten to cut off Carl's arm. Seems clear that Rick isn't going to be thinking revenge for at least a few episodes. All of it is consistent with Negan as he has always been shown in the comic--supremely arrogant.

I tend to agree that he's making a mistake in leaving Rick alive, but that's mostly because I know that Kirkman has always said Rick is the only character he won't kill in the story. So you know he'll likely find some way to get out of this. Negan's still the strongest villain character in the Walking Dead despite the Kirkman-required mistake of leaving Rick alive.

Yeah, the violence in this issue was over the top and unnecessary. Makes me want to quit watching, even though I probably won't. The Glenn thing was just ridiculous.

I mean seriously, is this the kind of thing anyone needs to be watching.

It's pretty spot on with how the comic book showed it (Glen's death at least) so why not just follow the comic book -script. TV audiences more squeamish then comic book fans?

The realism was just sickening to me. I don't enjoy watching real videos of people getting killed and I really didn't enjoy this episode. For me, it was just like an episode of Game of Thrones where this huge brute of a guy crushes this other guy's head with his bear hands. It was a scene that I cannot "un-see". Brutal.

Torture porn. I thought it was disgusting especially for prime time.

I wonder if Negan was paying overtime to his voiceless henchmen who had to listen to him prattle on all night with the odd head bashing thrown in. Seriously, how does someone like this become a leader? He knows who the 2 strongest males are, so let's keep them alive... yup.

You guys should check out The Walking Dead Thread in The Water Cooler.

I and others expressed similar criticism/concerns about the escalation of explicit, graphic, realistic gore and violence in this episode. You should read some of the responses.

It's a horror Show. Again, maybe The twilight saga is more some people speed here.

I think a lot of people have an issue with it being a prime time network show.

If it was HBO, gloves are off.

As for the water cooler, some folks can't handle a contrary opinion to their own.

Next to the Presidential election it's still the best zombie show on TV but it's jumped the shark.

Ever watch American Horror Story, which is on a prime time ( cable as is WD ) show ?

10 x worse than Lucille.

And again, the terminus scene was just as graphic. why didn't those that have such a problem leave then ??

Maybe not 10 x worse. But a lot of people have even more problems with sex.

So here.

Regular prime time cable tv. Sex and violence. Lady Gaga style. American horror story.

Very NSFW. even though it's on Reg tv. ;)

It was violent enough to receive an X rating according to old movie rating system. I don't care for teeny bopper romance. I also don't care to watch a guys head turned to hamburger and left to suffer with half his face hanging off while others watch.

I'm done with it. I've already cancelled the record on the DVR. Obviously from facebook posts, many, many, many people feel the same.
