Bronze Age Treasuries

@Warlord and wormboy - I've taken several pictures of it but photobucket is taking forever to run on my computer. I did find a few pics for an article I wrote on store displays for a FB group:

Do you still have all your awesome treasury collection?

Funny you should ask, because as of yesterday, I sold off everything except a few boxes of underground comix and multipacks. The buyer was great about letting me keep the Ali display. :)

You sold all of your comics?

Went from lots of boxes of comics to just a few. Sold a spinner rack too. I guess I should stop now....

Shoot. I hope you continue to collect and contribute on the boards. You're one of the most knowledgable guys on here, especially when it comes to variants and other cool stuff I love.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I'm not going anywhere, just needed to dimish my position as I'm collecting different things now, and the size of the comic collection was just becoming unmanagable. It really was owning me instead of the other way around. I also got to a point where I was having issues insuring everything, and many sleepless nights while away on vacay with family worrying about it. It's also worth mentioning I felt like an insufficiently_thoughtful_person while the buyer was over yesterday, forgetting I even had stuff as we were going through it.

On the plus side, I am seeing areas of my basement floor and back walls that I haven't seen in nearly a decade. :D

Here are a couple more Treasury related items from my eBay want list.

A very cool Promo Poster for the Superman/Spider-Man Treasury.

The front looks like it may just be the cover to the Treasury without the interior glued in:

But on the back is a retail promo poster for the book!

Thanks to pop!writer for the image.

And this!

This guy - vinsuniverse - makes these killer custom Megos (I'm not affiliated).

Here is one he did for the Superman/Spider-Man Treasury. Sick.

No! it is the same size as UK Marvel weeklies, I will try and get a picture of both copies side by side to give you some idea.

Hey David - I just realized you're over in the U.K.

I'm curious - did they have both pence and cents copies of these treasuries on the shelf over there? Or was it just one of the two, and you collected others later?

Wow! Some incredible stuff in this thread.

Here's my contribution, which (sadly) I sold earlier this year...

The only way you could get a cents copy was through specialist comic shops and mail order, I think, newsagents sold pence copies, I have always been about the cents issues and sold my pence copy, I regret it now though.

When I saw this (without reading what Tim had to say about it first) I could not believe I had not seen it advertised in the seventies Marvel comics, it looks so real, do you know what sort of money they go for?

I know - he does a great job with the graphics on all of his custom cards.

This one is $150, which seems very reasonable to me given the time that must go into the creation.

Again, I'm not affiliated, just think it's wonderful stuff.

Those are great! I see you have a regular and Whitman version of Conan 4 but are there any differences in the other multiples, or do you just love those books so much you had to have more than one?

Those DCs are also sweet. I especially like the Adams covers! I think those were created for the Treasuries only, correct? I don't think they were repurposed from earlier books, which makes them even more special IMO.

I missed one.

Man I love that one! The colors are so bright and primary and vivid. The art is so huge. 100 Pages! It's like a time portal to my youth!

I don't know how you guys have minty copies... just handling them would make me panic, and I'd never want to open them!

They are tough to find reasonably priced in High grade, but once you have it bagged and boarded, they're actually pretty sturdy structurally. Tough to store though.

I think they're relatively rare in HG because we all read the mess out of them! I know mine were tattered and torn.
