An interesting book from the Sci-Horror category. Nobody did it like EC, but this was a nice effort.

I wonder if they were on Venus for this one... wink.gif

You'd think some space-age Round Up would be easier. Maybe some Weed B Gone. gossip.gif

You gotta love the marketing on this. How can you go wrong with the "Crime Terror" genre???

Yeah! Talk about playing into Wertham's hands!

Fight Against Crime gets my vote for most exploitative, gory, pre -code crime / horror book of them all. Perfect grist indeed for the Wertham mill.

Happy to oblige, RJ! thumbsup2.gif

On to poor, oft maligned ACG. Glad to see they have been getting a little love lately.

"EC swipe by Landau" - Overstreet

Good old Landau, he went on to play the role of a lifetime as Lugosi in "Ed Wood". Awesome! hail.gif

Oh, what a bummer! sumo.gif

For years Kenneth Landau has been touted as quitting comics and moving to Hollywood where he changed his name to Martin and pursued acting. Now what gives? confused-smiley-013.gif

Don't leave me hangin, Scrooge ol' buddy! What's the scoop!???popcorn.gif

Pretty nice ACG cover though, and Williamson art inside, I believe.

Yeah, I posted some of the Williamson / Krenkel pages earlier. You can check them out here

PCKeith,

it was in one of the early Vol. 3 Alter Ego (CBM(?) but I lean to AE) IIRC that this mis-conception was disspelled. Can't remember which right now nor do I have time to dig for the exact quote.

Dang, a quick web search unearths the sad truth... frown.gif

Funny, how even with today's communications that some of these rumors are still floating around.

Well, we'll get the answers slowly, one legend a time it would seem..... shy.gif

At least there is a kernel of truth in that Martin worked on a syndicated strip eventually working his way to producing Sundays on his own. It would have been IMO even more disappointing had Martin never put lead to paper in his life and from the bits in Evanier's interview, Landau does have an appreciation of the artists in the field.

Now, where's the "Pat your buddy on the back" emoticon? flowerred.gif

Instead of ruining the good name of the classic Vincent Price "House of Wax" by releasing a "remake" featuring Paris Hilton, Hollywood should have taken the film and borrowed the title from this cover instead: "The Thing With the Golden Hair."

Alas, poor ACG! I knew them well.

This is why I never enter a drinking contest with a guy wearing a hooded mask! wink.gif

Love the text: "Don't you see who it is?!"

Yeah, fool. It's Skeletor, he's come to claim back Castle Greyskull in an all or nothing game of "quarters!" grin.gif

Looks like most of the "Deadlings" are more interested in climbing man-made objects than in attacking Nancy. Geez! No wonder we beat them! yeahok.gif
