Briefer has this one just oozing with atmosphere, don't you agree? The colors are a nice touch, too.

I think it took b LLs for Briefer to do this one..... a close up of Franky & nothing else. It works well, too. Amazing.....

Keith, I've known about the existance of these Frankenstein books for years but know nothing about the contents. To me the Frankenstein looked almost comical so I always thought this was a humor type book. I assume I am wrong here, but could you decribe a typical storyline?

Jay - Basically the first 17 or 18 issues of FRANKENSTEIN are humor. The rest are pure horror, and tend to be usually very brutal.

Keith,

This cover is interesting...Is it supposed to be a bondage cover?

If so has the artist forgotten to or was told not to draw the ropes/chains?

Or is that supposed to be rope at the end of the woman's cuffs?

 

Also like the hint of the slip under the skirt!

Yep that's a bondage cover. She's tied with rope in the story, but it must be the invisible kind on the cover.

 

I like that slip as well. If you look close at the red in Franky's mouth it looks like blood, but is supposed to be his gumline.

 

I've also always thought to myself: "Self, just what IS franky going to do with that skull and spine?!"

With that steaming pile of bones right behind him, it looks like Franky is trying to show those poor,

helpless spectators how fast he can eat and pass a whole skeleton!

I've been directed to this thread, and wonder if I might post some of my favorite Atlas covers, like this Everett masterpiece (IMHO)? This one is tough to find with unfaded red which, I presume, is due to the red ink being photo-reactive.
