Neat book!

Curious... how/why did the Spirit — originally appearing as reprints (of the Sunday newspaper inserts) in Police Comics, published by Quality Comics — end up in the hands of Fiction House publications by 1952? Especially when signs of the demise of Fiction House were already apparent.

Even more puzzling as it was originally a partnership between Busy Arnold, Quality's publisher, and Will Eisner.  However, the Quality published Spirit ended in 1950, presumably due to low sales, so Eisner may have been on his own to find an alternate publisher.
