No good reason, but I could think of a bad reason - to obscure the profit margin being sought on the sale in question - i.e., perhaps a seller would not want potential buyers to look in GPA and identify how much the most recent transaction was for the exact book being sold...which, of course, would be possible if the cert # was listed in the GPA sales history (shrug)

 

..or, perhaps to hide an undesirable PQ designation....

Horrible selling practice. That label could say so many things about quality, restoration, etc that anyone buying it based on that picture alone would be gambling big time...
