Okay, I have a question. If I have a sales thread, should I be able to refuse to sell to any particular member(s)? I'm talking about boardies who are not on the PL or HoS, but who just kinda make me nervous. There are some repeat thread krappers and strange posters who just seem like they could easily be hassles to deal with.

If it is cool to refuse to sell, when do I have to state that? It can't be the right move to list their names in the first post. Is it cool to PM them if they post a :takeit:?

Thoughts?

You beat me to this question. ;)

Yes. Simply state in you opening post that you have the right to refuse to sell to anyone for any reason.

Okay, so say someone I don't want to sell to puts up the :takeit: on a comic. I can follow that post with a comment that it's still available? It seems mean. I suppose I can keep it vague, just say it's still available with no reason...Still, I could see it turning into a thread-derailing battle.

I don't know if there is an easy way to state it but I do agree that you should be able to only sell to the members you are comfortable dealing with.

I'm looking at making a relatively large comic purchase (anyone know what Barry Allen's first appearance was, btw?), so I'll thank everyone in advance for not listing any tempting comics for a little while.

Thanks! :foryou:

I think Barry Allen's first appearance was from an early issue of some obscure title back in the 1950s.

I was away for a couple of days....just had a chance to read your, ummm, explanation.

The highlights for me:

Here for Comix and Donna, etc

My response in BOLD

The intentions were NOT spelled out in the original thread (since deleted) where you were fundraising, ostensibly, for C4K. No one there understood what was going on. There was no mention of where the cash was going and that it was covering your trip to NO.

I cannot comment on deleted items

I cannot comment on deleted items, .

At least you're not being evasive. :eyeroll: You wrote the opening post of that thread and it was a call for fundraising for comics4kids. If you don't want to admit that, it is your choice.

Since you wrote the items in question, your reluctance to talk about them tells me enough.

So this isn't you? Really?

The references are mine yes, not my page though

My goodness. You really just said that the "about me" page is not about the owner of the Ebay account? It's "About You" and "you" are not "me"?

So the first line after the scans isn't you either? All those scans are not yours.

"All my very expensive material is not on ebay, but is listed on HA.COM (Heritage Auctions). Heritage is the world's largest comic book auction house as well as the third largest auction house in the world!

Check them out for the finest comic books and original comic art our hobby has to offer!"

If that stuff and this statement is from you then you've misled us here with this answer.

If all those items and the above statement are not yours, then that ebay account, used to raise funds for comics4kids is misleading people into believing that all those resume points are in reference to the seller of the items and it's incredibly deceptive to the bidders.

You see all those statements you highlighted with your bullet point resume they all start with "I", 1st person.

You go to bid on those items, you click on the "about me" and you are hit in the face with that resume and an explanation of "I" did this and "I" did that, it's all 1st person. It's not an advertisement.

So who's being misled, people bidding on comics4kids books on ebay or cgc forum members? Both?

This is the least plausible explanation I have read on these boards and this was the birth place of Muscleshark, Hammer, and the now classic CapFreak's "just try".

Are you really a Doctor or do you just play one online?

I am not a medical Doctor

And we're done. lol

1) Are you a 501©(3) charity?

2) Do you have an accounting/receipts of donations made TO your "charity" and donations made BY your "charity"?

3) Who is Heidey Spidey? What is their relation to you?

Please try to be more coherent than that rambling mess above.

4) If #1 is a no, then why has it taken 16 years to still NOT be a 501©(3)?

I just now have the time and health to devote my full attention to the matter. I had experienced a series of events that prevented my full zealous endeavor within the boundaries of law. 2012 is the Year of the Kid !

You do realize that in 16 years time you could have exhausted all levels of appeal in a death penalty case, including a run up to the supreme court AND have 9 years left over, right?

Don't you think you might be better served by telling people that you've never done something like this before and tried to do it without having to pay a lawyer since it's all out of pocket for you, and it got away from you and you dropped the ball and shelved it?

We'd all understand that because it's believable.

Seeing Lighthouse school Dr. Neff on business matters made this one more than worth the click. :D

 Man if those folks who made those donations and wrote off the amounts on their taxes get audited.

Oh, BTW Dr. Neff being asked about IRS designation in 2006

Post signed as Dale and Heidi.

I have to assume that you are fulfilling your promise as a charity and giving books to kids but dodging questions and flat out ignoring others is not helping your cause.

So, we should just have this discussion annually then? Like our own personal Bill Murray-style Groundhog Day?

And related to #2 above -- Which hospitals do you donate comics to?

I have H info but have to post later, paperwork not on me at this juncture. Even a lot of Forum members here too when they had a sick relative

That paperwork must be in DEEP storage huh?

Can't just give us names of the hospitals?

Since you are pulling the paperwork anyway, get us dates, amounts, and the hospital's contact person name and number. Thanks

Probably only when Dr. Dimento needs someone else to pay for his way to the next convention.

Maybe next time he won't dress it up as being "for the kids".

Well I really have to thank you for posting all those past threads where questions just like these have been raised and then ignored, only to be raised again due to another call for donations without any progress being made with all the issues raised the year before.

I didn't realize how many times this has happened.
