Three on census. Probably no chance Schomburg was still doing covers for Timely in ‘47?

I can't recall any funny animal covers done by Schomburg for Timely.  Funny animals was a separate unit run by editor Vince Fago.

Mail call! As you all know, I'm a superhero guy, so this is slightly out of my wheelhouse.

But, something about this little run from Street & Smith has me picking them up whenever I come across them.

I probably have 5 or 6 of them now.

This one has a nice bright yellow World War II cover.

Pioneer Picture Stories #8, September, 1943. Only one copy in the CGC census.

Glad I get to bump my thread back to the top!

No GPA sales at all!

Given the cover, I think this is something that the collecting community can be very proud of. (:

Why so prejudiced against the alien tourist cover? :baiting:

Seriously though, I think of Whiz as a very big title, yet 141 is the only issue of the entire run that has no sales data at all. Just surprised me a little bit.

Plus those two copies on the census must be the Crowley copies.

We should start a Whiz appreciation group now that there are two of us. :foryou:

Even among the Whiz collectors (aka Whizzers), the last part of the run seems to get a lot less attention than the first part of the run.

I don't know about Whiz, but an alien tourist fad might have legs! hm

Let’s get Frisky. Just one of these in the census and it’s a nice 9.2. Mines not that nice.
