Even in the 80's and 90's the title splash was not always page 1.  So, it's not just a new thing.  Maybe it's just the age I read comics, but I looked at page 1 as the indica page, and the title splash as where the credits / title were.

And all my favorite 60's keys would have several chapter splashes.

Viagra began it's R&D life as a treatment for cardiovascular ailments.....

Sometimes the side-effect becomes the institution. lol

Imagine researching heart ailments and finding the miracle cure for soft wood.  lol   What a 'jackpot!!! I just found the holy grail!!!!' moment for that researcher.     The biomed equivalent stumbling onto a steamer trunk full of action 1's at a yard sale while looking for a VF Iron Man #1.

lol no doubt !

But I am sure there was at least one researcher tearing his hair out that they didn't cure cardiac problems as much as they probably made things worse on that front.

Yes, that's true, there are lives at stake after all.

I meant from a purely financial perspective, but you're right of course.

Oh yeah, it's a gold mine for sure.

I was just imagining the whole lab throwing a party and popping bottles while one dude stays huddled over his microscope muttering to himself. lol

I"m thinking it was more like... the first guy to discover it solved that problem tested it on himself five minutes later lol

And either had a very happy or very disgruntled wife depending on his starting functionality :insane:

Well, i was planning on going after a couple of things tonight, but I bought something off their marketplace the end of Oct, still don't have it, and they have not responded to any emails for over 2 weeks, called today, left a voicemail and still did not get a response.

I hope I get the page I paid for, but I don't know if I'll be buying from them again.

That's kinda the experience I expect from how bad their site is. That sucks.

Congrats on the winner of the V for Vendetta page. A favourite of mine. Great storytelling. Superb use of shadows.

I don't rate the page quite as highly as you, but I'll second the congrats. Very surprised it sold so low. Well bought by the winner!

Nice the 1994 page 3 Marvels 1 page sold for  8513$!

Wasn't this page being sold on CAF for $11K (or 15k) for the longest time? Maybe I'm thinking of another? It's no surprise it went under 10K if it couldn't find a buyer at 11k. This is a definitive image of Torch and it set the tone for MARVELS. I guess because it wasn't part of the MARVELS continuity it didn't break 5 figures. Maybe it would have on HA or CLink. It's definitely one of my grails and I seriously considered cashing in my collection for it when it was on CAF.
