And to think, this screened as about as well as the canceled, $90MM Batgirl.

I assume they just didn't want to pizz away any more money on that one after the ~$350MM production P&A they pizzed away on this one.

I still have no idea why this was ever made, and why for God's sake for so much money.

It does sort of boggle the mind that we've seen:

  • 3 Blade movies
  • 2 Ant-Man movies
  • 1 Bloodshot movie
  • 1 Black Adam movie

...before we've seen even 1 Flash movie.

Meanwhile Disney's over here doing throwaway side projects with their lunch money like Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel, MODOK & Werewolf by Night.

If I had to guess: Maybe the Rock has a rock solid cancellation clause in his contracts, which make shelving one of his movies a very expensive endeavour (especially one that he has been personally interested in for decades)

But I honestly think it tested fine and see no reason why it would have not been made (everything makes sense on paper. Rock as Black Adam is pretty great casting)

Rotten Tomatoes is broken if they gave WW84 58% positive. A Golden Girls porno has less cringe-worthy moments than that turd of a movie.

Picture this: Sicily, 1915, I had a **** in both hands and....

I loved it. :censored: the critics.

The only problem I had was the sound mix. I had to strain to hear the dialogue at times, but that could have been the theater.

Give it a shot, you might be surprised.

Agreed. I loved it, thought it was great. I think the problem is the MCU has raised the bar so high, everyone expects the next superhero film to break records, set genres or do both at the same time.

This was a fun exciting superhero film. The rock clearly did his homework and knew the character. I liked the rest of the JSA, even the cyclone chick. They all have their moment to shine.

Though there is no --script for a Black Adam sequel yet, Garcia opened up about what those plans might entail. Be warned, the tease of what might be next contains what some may consider spoilers for some moments in the Black Adam movie. "Our vision is, what we really want to establish is Superman exists in the same world as Black Adam," Garcia said. "Both those guys exist in the same universe and that's important for us. It's in the universe where our JSA is and so forth. But we really wanted the world to know that these guys are going to cross paths and how we do it, we're still working on it. We don't want to give that away. But I will say that it's much bigger than what people think."

I don't know who this person is , but her review sounds like it was written by a desperate WB exec.

She's been a leading comic book writer since 2001.

Simone is notable for being one of the most influential women in the comic book industry. Her blog "Women In Refrigerators" raised awareness of the representation of women in comics.[31] Simone believes most female comic characters are targeted at male audiences through oversexualization, and advocates for the creation of female characters that are as powerful, appealing, and commercially viable as male characters, something she strives to achieve in her own work.

There is an opinion going around critics did not like the dismissal/departure of Toby Emmerich because since his New Line days they felt he was more real-world and playing to their likes (less dark and gritty, less comic books). Add to this his DC pick (Walter Hamada) being sidelined and now terminated but as a horror genre contributor he had clout and seemed to get Emmerich's vision for DC.

This is the first big DC film released since both are gone. And some critics may be going extra hard to voice their opinions. Especially since it sounds like this continues the 'Snyderverse' from the early reviews and final cameo. Why that matters:

And this very same critic opinion has been stated openly on social media.

I hope that helps ease your feelings. As mine had nothing to do with noting a common critic trend.

An honest critic that also takes into consider what is most probably taking place with the mass critic panning of the film, repeatedly comparing to the MCU.
