More HPB finds for half of cover price. The Aquaman is a little older but it's a cool book and a semi...minor...former key, I guess?

isn't that the 1st kid flash as well? If a "price edition", it might be fun. Ah, I checked, and it is a newsstand edition only, still :) not bad!

Has anyone done a Top 10 type of list for modern newsstand grails?

Not that I've seen, but it's a cool idea! I don't know if I can come up with 10 off the top of my head, but a clear candidate for #1 would be Ultimate Fallout 4. Clone Wars 1 would be another big one I think. I'd personally also nominate Batman 1 New 52 (it goes for some decent money) and Detective 880. Batman 6 New 52 also. Maybe a couple of other Bat-keys too, like 655 (first Damien) and 635 (Jason Todd Red Hood), but I admittedly have a Batman bias, and those could be further down the list (or not on it at all). Spawn 1 should be on there too I think...

Has anyone ever seen a copy?

I haven't, and I have a decent chunk of Wolvie newsstands. Speaking of Wolverine, 88 could be a candidate, and Origins 10. But I feel like I'm just naming big keys in newsstand as opposed to "newsstand grails" like UF4.

Would Batman 457 2nd print newsstand be considered modern or copper? That would be a good one...

Great idea about a list of holy grails for newsstands  --though we should exclude cases where nobody has ever seen a newsstand copy (e.g., Wolverine #74  --I have every issue of the 2003 series from #40 through #90 in newsstand except #74, and I remember 2-3 years ago someone posted that he'd never seen a newsstand copy of #74, so there is a good chance it never came out as a newsstand).    Rare + pricey would fit the bill for a holy grain, imho (so, Ultimate Fallout #4 definitely qualifies).

Agreed on UF4.  Though not as popular, Captain Marvel #14 with Kamala's first cameo is also a modern Newsstand that would rank high on my list.  Vengeance 1 is on my shortlist too.

I posted this one in the new in my collection thread, but not here.  I didn't even realize it was a NS copy until it arrived.  :)   As @Qalyar pointed out to me, with the UPC on the back it may not be found in many collections if copies are in B&B's.  Plus it's likely not that big of an ordered book, as it's mainly a recap book meant to feed into the clone craziness, so kinda rare.  Likely not a big $ book, but it's cool!  :D  Love the wrap cover too!

I think you're right.  I can see 88 joining NM 98.   The regular issues prices are all softening at the moment, and the NS editions are only climbing.   NS is the clear winner in these huge population key books.

NM 98 is a good call, I forgot about that one.

The interesting part is I can see a NS 88 going for more than a #1 NS of the same title.   Though issue 8 is super strong right now, for just being a classic cover and FOMO driving prices.

Is anyone buying high grade NS 98's this soon after the holder tampering scam??    Prices are strong, but the scam has to have taken a toll.
