The idea that the Mega City One Judges are too liberal and bleeding heart, and so an even harder (parallel universe?) Nazi Totenkopf version has to be introduced. Grant Morrison and his legion of post-postmodern imitators only wish that they could be this authentically silly and weird and serious all at the same time, and still get it all done in eight pages for 12-cents! A little nonsense now and then is valued by the wisest men...and by kids, too, who were gleefully enjoying this stuff as fantasy (not science!) on a fleeting and carefree summer afternoon during a lost but not entirely forgotten age when the world was not as it is today. So I say celebrate this kind of whimsical and harmless hogwash for what it is, and mourn its passing, rather than faulting it for what it is not... Ken Aldred
On 8/18/2021 at 4:37 PM, Amazeron said: If I’m correct, Marvel originally intended for Wolverine’s claws to be just weapons. That might be why the claws are placed oddly in his first few appearances. I think so. Just a weapon attachment rather than adamantium-covered bones. So, there’s plenty leeway for a point of emergence, as seen above. Edited August 18, 2021 by Ken Aldred Larryw7

kav
On 8/18/2021 at 11:55 AM, Amazeron said: It looks like a mistake with the figure’s proportions. On the full panel it looks like Wolverine’s claws are attached right below his wrists; leaving room for Wolverine to move his hand to the side with the claws still pointing outwards. However, the claw on the right is spaced out to much from the others, obscuring the whole view. It should be more straight. Having it curve like that makes it look like it’s attached below the thumb. Romita drew the figure for him and trimpe had one job! Edited August 18, 2021 by kav
