Popular Post wombat
Posted on Facebook on the Art Museum page. On this day 11 years ago, Frank Frazetta passed away at the age of 82. He was a man who lived a long life full of love, happiness, and success. When people ask me who he was as a person, I always explain that they'd never expect him to be the legendary artist that he was- he was humble, kind, and caring; he wore clothes that were comfortable to him, rather than the type that would show off his success; sports were a huge passion of his, and his athleticism was as important to him as his talent in art; and it was hard to get him to brag or boast about anything, even though he had a competitive nature. All in all, Frank Frazetta was a family man, always trying to surround himself with those who loved him. I could not have asked for a better Grandfather, and I'm very proud to be his grandson. I love and miss you every day Grandpa; you were a very special person. -William Frazetta chevalmeow, Randall Dowling, The Lions Den and 6 others 7 1

Something I never noticed until this weekend. In the revised version it appears there is a woman holding up the base of the statue. One of the main changes was that Frank did not like in the original that the flame from the volcano drew in your eyes instead of the statue. I agree about the volcano being distracting but where you see a woman holding the base, I see a reflection of the statue in the water. oakman29

Compare it to the original. Can it be a reflection of the statue? Sure. But if you just look at it on its own it could definitely be the silhouette of a woman. Going with reflection on this one. oakman29
