Yay, girlies :x:x:x

I had this one very early in my girlie hunting career (also by Quintana/Quaintance) but returned it because of (many, many) missing pages.    For what I paid for it at the time - a pittance in today's girlie market, I wish I'd kept it now because it's such a nice copy cover-wise. I vastly prefer a complete girlie, can sometimes live with no photo section, but I do like to at least have all the stories. I did, however, take the liberty of capturing a nice image. Au revoir, sweetie pie:

my fave in that line and  just as ridiculous if not moreso (not my copy, and sorry just a thumbnail hrm.)

I do have a couple beater issues, though, the first sold in Kansas City Missouri,

There's a full scan of this issue here, edit work from McCoy.  Or it's at the Internet Archive here.  There's some funkiness in the numbering but this first one is from the first series which is from I believe a different owner than Henry Marcus (H.M.) later on.

Scan here, again McCoy with the heavy lifting

Three new girlie additions this week.  The first comes with great timing, as I'm in the middle of a series of articles on Worth Carnahan.  It's not the greatest copy, but it's a super scarce issue, and I got it for a steal.  It was sent over in a nice little package from the UK (and surprisingly reasonable shipping at that).  If you get packages from Brit sellers, you know the kind I'm talking about, good vibes and tissue paper lol

As long as it makes it to me undamaged I'm always happy :D

1st prize Cherry Pie.  The second issue of his self published four issue run.  Cherries everywhere. Love it.

High grade collector trigger warning: Avert your eyes from my low grade beauties!  Heh heh. This is one is pure scan fodder (and likely a tough-ish cover restore) with much grub and a separated spine.  Still, this cover can fetch in nice shape.  But chains?? Maybe for you weird menace types in other genres, but bondage is not a common feature of girlie pulp covers.  Let my lovelies be, they're cuter when they aren't screaming.  She does have a smile, though, and doesn't seem to mind her predicament:banana:

Jack Greiner

Lastly, an issue I picked up when OtherEric pointed it out.  Inspired by Nabokov, the attribution is a bit dicey.  Sellers want to label it Vargas but I do not know.  No credit inside the mag?! Solidly in the girlie pulp school.

Checking in the Non-Comics Magazine thread from when I first got my copy, the artist was identified as Dennis Magdich.  It's not Vargas for sure.

Yep, OE, you're right.  I wasn't seeing Vargas, either.

Defo his.  And likely the best piece in that auction.  This one is ridiculous.

But I like it :yeehaw:

v01n01 of Gayety (later Paris Gayety) from the often overlooked but very talented girlie pulp artist, Harry Moskovitz, who designed the original Pep Boys advertisement and later went on to acclaim as a portrait artist.

That was a pretty low cut dress for that time
