And 7.0 was under $14k.

Then there is this....past two sales at $2,100 including Halloween night on Heritage.

Watched both sessions  2c

Session 1 - Timely & PCH rocked. Solid prices across the board. As expected by prior showings, Promise books aren't holding up.

Session 2 - Other than a few outliers (like that one above), prices seemed soft with a few being below Overstreet (at least according to HA).

I have no skin in the game either way - just making an observation based on verifiable data :peace:

I don't have skin in the game either, in that I don't have a vested interest in the outcome of the Promise books but I do know some of the buyers of some of the biggest books and I told them quite frankly that they overpaid.

Not my money though, so...

8912% gain! We back, baby. 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀

EDIT : removed mistake - had the wrong comic pulled up. :D
I'm not sure about the calculation or prices on that Chamber of Chills #23.  It shows the peak year of sale being in 2002 at a price of $253.  There are actually 2 (English) runs of Chamber of Chills.  One was in 1951 and the other was in 1954.  So there are 2 Chamber of Chills #23's out there.  What was sold in the November auction was the #23 from the 1954 run.  It's been selling for thousands for a while.  The previous high sale for a 9.0 (non-File Copy) on GPA was in August for $35500.  The $253 sale was actually for a 9.0 Chamber of Chills from the 1951 run back in 2002.

This is what happens when you are working fast on something that is not in your  wheelhouse.   :)

I was hoping you wouldn't take that the wrong way. lol. :)  I even made a mistake originally in that post because I had the wrong comic pulled up when quoting prices (there were a couple of sales of that issue on Heritage within a day or two of each other, I think).

Golden Age has so many weird quirks, but I love the era (and I only really got into it maybe 2-4 years ago), and I'm also forever learning about it.

Believe me, there are times I wish somebody would grant API access for prices to the common man and keep it at around $5-$15/month (or a low price per API call) so all this would be easier.  But your chart is still useful, so hopefully you keep it up.  If for no other reason, it'll make me cry at all the red I keep seeing. :D The only reason I did a double-take was because I saw the 8000%+ increase in that comic and the 2002 peak price when I said "didn't I just see that sell  few times just in the last couple of months?"

Which is why I keep buying.

Dollar cost averaging in for half a century has been a decent strategy so far.

That Giant Sized X-Men 1 is such a cool book in 9.8 but that drop is crazy.

What was even more crazy was the run up in the first place. Hopefully the victim can use it as a tax loss.

if only movie posters were better preserved like comics , I got a full set Owl & P-cat italian fotobustas virtually NM , prolly never used.....they didnt preserve bustas well then : tape marks/torn is common. So to find a NM set is very rare. The 2 & 4sh italian posters were printed on thin paper stock , its bit surprising that many survived 40-60+ yrs.

Just got 35 OHMSS cards (full set was 56) , this is among rarest 007 trading cards (only Lazenby Bond/1st color cards/only sold UK) (not NM shape but Id say 7-8 out of 10 , usual staining on back)
