FF has been a blood bath the past few years. But FF #4 was also a victim of frenzied speculation leading up to Subby's movie premiere and the subsequent panic selling once everyone actually watched the movie and realized how Marvel had botched his on-screen debut.   :tonofbricks:

Agreed but it's similar for most of the issues.

Here's FF #2 in 6.0

2024 2 $2760 $2220
2022 3 $12100 $3988
2021 2 $5760 $5051
2019 2 $3500 $3120

So we have confirmed that a few (probably most) of the FF4 key books are quite a bit lower than in 2019.  I don't have GPA but I'd guess there are a bunch of Avengers keys which are also much lower than in 2019 especially anything with Kang.  Daredevil key books are probably lower even in the Silver-Age since people were all gung-ho on Purple Man at one point.  I'd not be shocked if minor key Thor books are lower since everyone was inflated with that title in 2019.  What other Marvel stuff do we have left that is higher at this point?

and that`s with the Fantastic Four new movie to next year for July, 25th, 2025. It seems like speculators/YouTube influencers have left, while we collectors are still being patient.

Lol I bought myself a stationary bike and a rowing machine with some small stimulus back then with the pandemic.  I still use them. My friend bought nothing but sports cards with his stimulus and says they have lost 70 percent of their value with those sports cards. It seems like all collectibles are down unless rare or very high grade. hm

I'm buying.  I've never stopped since I was a kid.  Just bought an ASM #9 in 7.0

I guess the answer to my question has to be Spidey books since the demand never seems to fade for that title.  Prices probably are way off the crazy 2021 peaks but I'd guess they have not fallen back to the 2019 levels.

If you are still using it then you did well.  Seriously especially as you have kept up with it.

Similar story with the Skrulls. Good villain ruined by bad movie.

During COVID everyone was buying all those stay at home products/services, while all of us should have been buying more Chevron and Exxon Mobil stock while they were on a once in a lifetime sale discount! lol

All true, and a contributing factor, no doubt.  The other big factor is the decline in quality output from Marvel Studios since 2022. All the movie hype was a massive factor through Endgame and into 2020 and 2021.  That has taken a lot of wind out the the sails for Silver and Bronze books.

Yes, whatever happened to all of the boardies who said that they couldn't wait for prices to fall so that they could start buying books again.  hm

Or is it a case of prices still simply being too high and waiting for them to fall even further before coming in to hit the buy button?  (shrug)

That's me.  One of my grails, ASM #1, has been slowly dropping and may soon be affordable for me in a low grade.

I don't want to keep bringing this book up but holy cow is it dropping fast all the sudden.   It really seemed to be holding at the $3K mark for the longest time......Heritage just sold for under $2.2k.     Looking at GPA there are still a lot of recent sales in the upper 2s.....maybe Heritage is just not the place for sellers of this book right now (and yes....these books are for sale every week it seems on Heritage so I get that aspect too)

No, they've held up better.  Here's ASM #14 in 6.0.  Down a bit from highs but above 2019

2024 2 $4275 $2378
2023 12 $3800 $2385
2022 15 $5750 $3360
2021 7 $4800 $2800
2020 12 $2880 $1790
2019 14 $2560 $1975

Let's see if they learned their lesson starting in less than 2 weeks at SDCC since MCU is coming back to Hall H!

They need to make a big splash and I think they know that.

I doubt they know that, seeing as how they just released the trailer for the Agatha show.

Who gives a flying eff about Agatha? Nobody, and it will bomb viewer-wise. More wasted money and time from Marvel Studios.

That was already getting made though, I am talking about what they have planned post them admitting they need to change.  Trust me I am not defending Bob Igor or Katheen Kennedy, I want them both fired asap.  I just saying if they dont learn their lesson starting in 2025 then its over.

I'm also still buying...only time will tell if it's smart buying! lol

Kidding aside, since I'm buying books I want to own and am paring down other areas of my collection to offset their cost I hope it will be a zero-sum game...

How hard would it be to take a classic story arc and make an entertaining movie?

Since I'm one of the boardies that said that, I'm currently buying as you can see in the CL/HA wins thread, so nothing "happened" to us. Not sure what you're expecting from "those boardies"... a daily update of how much we've bought today? Or are you being intentionally obtuse as usual?

For the dynamic dopes of Igor and Kennedy apparently it's impossible.
