1Cool
I'll be there! My fingers are crossed this one goes off without a COVID related hitch since it's my one big Con of the year. jsilverjanet
Popular Post 1Cool
Just a FYI for those attending (Not trying to start a discussion about it): We are so excited to welcome you all back in person to the Baltimore Comic-Con this year, or with us for the first time for those of you new to the show. The health and safety of our attendees, vendors, and staff are of the utmost importance to us. Due to concerns over the spread of COVID, we will be putting some safety measures in place. REQUIRED: Mask/approved face coveringAND REQUIRED: Proof of Vaccination OR Proof of a Negative COVID test within 72 hours of admission Read below for details. Approved face coverings will be worn by all while indoors at the convention, meeting the City of Baltimore’s mask mandate. Mask must fit properly and snugly, fully cove ring both the nose and mouth and secure under the chin. Face coverings with valves, mesh, costume masks, damaged masks, neck gaiters, and face coverings that cannot be secured under the chin will not be allowed. Face coverings must be visible at all times. Any headwear or cosplay pieces that cover the face in a way that does not visibly follow the face covering policy will not be allowed. -AND- Proof of vaccination -OR- Proof of a negative COVID test within 72 hours of admission Proof of vaccination with any vaccine approved or authorized by the WHO or the FDA may be presented on a smart phone, or with a physical copy of the card along with a government issued ID that matches the name on the proof. Self-test results will not be accepted as proof of a negative COVID test. Applies to all attendees, vendors, guests, and convention staff. We appreciate everyone following these extra steps to keep everyone – particularly our older and more vulnerable attendees – as safe as possible. We look forward to seeing everyone the weekend of October 22-24, 2021 for the return of the Baltimore Comic-Con. As we get nearer to the show, we’ll be in touch with further details about the event for you to plan for your weekend and promote your appearance. wombat
I'm going. I do question where exactly in the process they are going to be doing the vaccination/test checking. Sounds like it might be a nightmare to get in. I'm usually waiting in line on Saturday to get in. I think I will give it a few hours this year for them to work through the initial crowd. Gave a wristband to wear all weekend, so only one check needed. Relatively quick. Hopefully Baltimore is similar. FlyingDonut
I will tell you that there will be NO "exemptions" or "waving people through" or "I have a special waiver" or anything. You either need to show your vaccination card OR proof of a negative PCR test AND ID before you can get in. That will apply to every attendee - including children who cannot as yet get a vaccination. I think it will add - at most - about three seconds to the line unless people are tools and try to make a point and cause a ruckus. jimjum12
Popular Post FlyingDonut
I will also tell you that if you're not wearing a mask you will be quickly and promptly told either put it on or leave - once again, there will be no exceptions or exemptions. I'm actually very happy they are going this route since I was very scared they would cancel the Con and my hotel is non-refundable! Hopefully the early bird crowds will be thinned out a bit and I can grab all the good stuff. ttfitz, Dmac538 and greggy 2

wombat
Thanks for the info @FlyingDonut. I can't remember for this one. We get the wristbands at the ticket booths and then get in line? Is that right?

I know Murph will be there and it sounds like Dan is manning his usual booth. Shortbox has a booth and they always bring some nice slabs. As long as Greggy is stuck on the other side of the border there should be plenty of nice books for everyone. shortboxed
