rjpb
I wonder if MCS is going to expand their auction footprint. As of now their weekly auctions seem to be mostly lower grade stuff that has trouble moving at a fixed price, but they would see well positioned to up their game on this front. I'd love to, as I'm looking to downsize but your recent grades are ludicrious. After submitting so many books, I had a good idea how you'd grade them and I could send you stuff confident of how they would be graded. Not recently. I've been told a consigner can call and appeal individual books but if I'm going to quibble over grades, I can do that on ebay. I'm in the same boat. I'm still sending raw books in but I'm being very choosy which ones. Oddly I've recently had some raw consignments go through their grading process, grade very high, like 9.4, and then suddenly become ineligible for consignment. As of now their weekly auctions seem to be mostly lower grade stuff that has trouble moving at a fixed price, but they would see well positioned to up their game on this front. Our weekly auctions have an intentionally lower value target, and older/better stuff is funneled toward our four times a year Prime Auctions that run in January, April, July, and October. Earlier this year we had our first ever prime auction to surpass $1M in sales. Our sales I think are also tilted more heavily toward BIN format than auction, compared to some of the other venues that are more auction-centric, so a lot of material that might otherwise end up in auction instead sells as BIN. That said, our weekly auctions have been filling to capacity recently even after expanding them by one hour. We will adjust our auction schedule, weeklies and primes, to match demand and the needs of our consignors. shadroch
Any thought of a two night weekly auction. Maybe Pre 1980 one night and more modern later? I was bidding on a color guide and some X-men so I ended up watching for hours.

Popular Post JazzMan
Wait a cotton picking moment. When Steve left CGC he went to Heritage as a consignment director for about a year or two. After that he started CBCS. So who's got the over/under on how long it'll take for Steve to start BCGS - Borock Comic Grading Service? theCapraAegagrus, Larryw7, Gonzimodo and 2 others 1

We count ourselves among the many fans and customers of CBCS's grading services, and have enjoyed seeing CBCS grow from the new kid on the block to one of the two foremost grading services for comics. Steve leads by example, and the integrity and focus on quality that he displayed at CBCS are just two of the reasons why we feel so fortunate to have him join our team. I'm sorry to be taking him away from CBCS, but I know that CBCS remains in very capable hands with West Stephan and his stellar grading team as well as their partners at Beckett."Steve himself has this to say: "I am excited to start this next step in my career working alongside my friends Conan and Buddy Saunders and the rest of the very capable team at MyComicShop! The fanboy in me is overwhelmed by this opportunity! Not only will I be helping collectors and dealers get top dollar for their prized comic books, but I get to work with Buddy and Conan to grow the one-of-a-kind company they've built!"Jeromy Murray, President and COO of Beckett Collectibles and CBCS, writes, "We are so proud of what Steve has built at CBCS. The business he has led is now well positioned for its next period of high growth in the expert hands of West Stephan, Daniel Ertle, Steve Ricketts, Paul Figura, and the entire comics grading team. All of us at CBCS and Beckett look forward to continuing to work with MyComicShop and with Steve in his new role and are excited to deepen the partnership in the coming years."MyComicShop is the world's largest comic book retailer and a leading platform for comic book consignment sales. @oakman29 @Buzzetta @Hudson
