We are very close to making a positive announcement.

This was almost a month ago lol when I think "very close" I think days maybe a couple weeks... TBH just seems like CGC just feeding us false hope at this point... why not just say another month or two or that y'all have no clue instead of continuously telling us it's almost resolved? We're all obviously on edge bcz we've spent a lot of money on grading services & understand the issue but all we want is transparency.. I feel like we're just blatantly being lied to at this point.. The truth would hurt a lot less imo than false hope...

@CGC Mike I've been waiting for almost half a year and I would never send my cards for grading if I knew that there is an issue with slabs for metal cards and all my expensive cards will be held for so long. This is ridiculous. How CGC expects their clients to have business with them after this...

They must have given up on this chat; we all gave them our money already why should they have any reason to care?!🤷time isn't an issue for me is the customer service that I feel could stepped up... I've already started submitting other cards to PSA this was my first & most likely last cgc submission 🙄 *again transparency is all we ask for I personally knew I'd have to wait..

I bought a membership to submit cards for grading nearly 1 year ago. Right before I submitted is when the plug got pulled on metal card grading. It's now been months of false hope, etc. I do not want to have to send multiple shipments of cards and pay extra. This months long stringing us along has gone on long enough. What a disgrace CGC has turned into

This whole thing has been one long running joke it seems. CGC must have its own dictionary with different definitions of "soon" and "week" - it has been "Coming Soon" for almost a year! Just look at the timeline!

  • March 31, 2022 (295 days ago) – “I am sorry but, we don't have a set time as to when the encapsulation delay will end.”
  • April 27, 2022 (268 days ago) – “We will be making an announcement regarding this soon.”
    • Comment from a member – “As in how soon? From my experience dealing with CGC soon could mean anything between a day or two or a few months.
    • CGC Response - “I would guess next week at the latest.”
  • June 6, 2022 (228 days ago) – “We are currently finalizing a solution and hope to provide an update soon. Once we have fully tested this solution, we will make an announcement regarding it and let everyone know their metal cards can be safely encapsulated.”
  • June 29, 2022 (205 days ago) – “We still aren't grading metal cards. The solution that we tried last week did not work out so well, so we have one more part coming in that will hopefully remedy the situation. Will be at least another few weeks out.”
  • July 25, 2022 (179 days ago) – “We are still working on this”
  • August 11, 2022 (162 days ago) – “Still working on it. The solution we were hoping would work did not. So not we are working on another one, which should work.”
  • September 6, 2022 (136 days ago) – “No certain ETA. But there's a concept in the mail to us right now. We should hopefully know how that works by next week.”
  • September 21, 2022 (121 days ago) – “On a side note, the team is literally working on finalizing a solution to encapsulate metal cards as we speak.”
  • September 22, 2022 (120 days ago) – “I believe we are getting close to be able to encapsulate these.
  • October 3, 2022 (109 days ago) – “I expect hurricane Ian put a small delay into this. Not much, though. I believe the cards were test shipped last week,  Hopefully, there will be good news by the end of the week.”
  • October 7, 2022 (105 days ago) – “I doubt we will have an update until Tuesday at the earliest.”
  • October 27, 2022 (85 days ago) – “We had promising results, but are still working on the solution.”
  • November 12, 2022 (69 days ago) – “It will most likely be another 3 weeks before we have any new information regarding this.”
  • December 16, 2022 (35 days ago) – “We are very close to making a positive announcement.”

And the thing is I would've asked for my economy sub back a year ago if i didn't keep checking the forums and seeing positive news :(

I sent all of my stuff express foreseeing this, they received 23Feb and so should have been done with my sub before the news broke, but missed it and now my $75/card has been stuck for a year without sending non-metal cards back and not even refunding those of us who paid higher tiers not knowing this is what was going to happen.

Hey guys, don't know if I'm allowed to share links so I won't but there is a ebay listing of a cgc 9.5 metal pikachu that just got listed and it shows off CGCs new slab that they have been working on for almost a year. It's rounded on the inner corners and also has a inner sleeve! The SLAB IS REAL
