Is there a piece (or pieces) in this auction that people are monitoring to determine whether we’ve entered the downturn or not?  If so what are you watching and what number(s) does it need to hit or miss?

I’m not seeing any downturn in the comic art market on the higher quality stuff a kinda middle of the road Byrne west coast avengers page just went for 4500 on eBay I think we are healthy. And the stock market has rebounded very nicely since the lows still down but not as bad as feared and crypto is back up as well

Am I imaging things, or was there a Charles Vess Spider-Man & Hobgoblin pinup in this auction preview that's no longer there?

No you weren’t imagining it. I wasn’t aware it came down.

18 August 2020 and the DK4 MILLER page already at $100k🤯

and the Miller wolverine4 page at$10k

What the??!!

Well, the Miller Wolvie page should crack $25K fairly easily, possibly hit $30K so it’s no surprise that it’s at $10K already

Just imagine what the prices would be if the OA market wasn't finally crashing!

High end pieces tend to be the last to drop as they have status. It’s the lower end, I think, that’s likely to be the canary in the coal mine. I would be more focused on things below 10k and see how long they stay on the market, or don’t attract higher bids.

But no, no crashing and burning yet, not by a long shot.

I'm beginning to think all OA collectors are not created equal. For me, anything close to $10k is a high-end piece!

You're right ,OA collecting has become a hobby for very wealthy folks......unless you got in twenty years ago and have alot of quality OA to trade/ sell

I picked 10k because it’s noticeable, and will be remembered. For some collectors, it doesn’t amount to Peanuts.

I haven’t spend that yet on a piece because I don’t consider that hobby money. And since I don’t sell what I buy, I don’t recycle “profit”.

 I doubt I ever will.
