I think Tom has a focus of his collection, and has had it for some time.  I haven't heard any "masses" saying anything about Tom.

Hopefully, the auction (the subject of this thread) opens this week, and we can start discussing that.

So far, there are over 800 lots being offered. Some true treasures, but also some underwhelming pieces, to my eyes, anyway, with artwork I would normally expect to see in a Wednesday auction. Is this usual for one of their Signature events?

Is there a piece (or pieces) in this auction that people are monitoring to determine whether we’ve entered the downturn or not?  If so what are you watching and what number(s) does it need to hit or miss?

I will be watching the Peanuts offering (although most are later strips) and the Krazy Kats

Same for Peanuts... two auctions in a row with prices firmly below $25K for a daily would be telling

Please keep us posted......I have no idea of peanuts OA Values but anticipate a drop in prices all round.....a market  correction of sorts

Aside from the plethora of Garfield pieces and perhaps one or two lower end Matt Wagner pieces, what else do you think should be in a Wednesday auction?

Nope.  I’ll be tracking my usual 300-400 pieces to get a good understanding of the health of the market and to understand valuations of pieces from artists whose work I currently don’t collect.
