Tell me you’re middle-aged, without telling me your middle-aged…

"Middle age" is well behind me in the rear view mirror.

In 1959 when I made a bank deposit and had the teller stamp my passbook, she told me "we're going on computers next year, and things will be faster".  I somehow instinctively knew things would get majorly fouled up.

Coming back to work around 1988 with a crew, one of the guys said, "you know the telephone companies are working on a phone you can carry in your pocket and make calls without wires".  I said, "get outa here; that's science fiction!"

This is not a response to the initial prompt, but The Incredible Hulk is one of my favorite shows, and I've actually wondered about that.

Me too. Maybe they thought David (as opposed to Dave) was a more serious name than Bruce. And he was a serious guy.

Back in my day, we had 2.5 TV channels if u pointed the 'bunny ears' the right way. Gilligan's Island, Merv Griffin Show, Sanford and Son, All in the Family, Star Trek, Partridge Family, Hogan's Hero, Rat Patrol, the Avengers, Bird Man, MASH, NHL hockey, and All-Star Wrestling in glorious black and white.

What is a remote control?

Not a bad group of shows.

And me and my brother were the “human remotes”…

More, with a Jeff Foxworthy bent:

You might be a middle-aged or older collector if...

1. You still talk about dealer's tables rather than booths & kiosks.

2. You've ever been tempted to use the term "funny books" ...!

3. You still have Chuck Rozanski's business card in your wallet.

4. You not only own long boxes of comics, but dedicated storage lockers.

5. You like to reminisce about drug store spinner racks.

6. You still believe comic shops sell mostly comics.

7. You're favorite comics have a cent sign next to the price.
