The difference is while it’s the first appearance thru a house ad… And a house ad appears in the HT 3…both being black and white , a original full color Cap page with Bucky appears on page 44. That in my opinion is a game changer.

 Well....It is the true first appearance of Captain America in print form and in reality it truly is the first appearance of Captain American on page 44 of HT #3 (2). Lets say you consider house ad's of the future comic book not to count....Fair enough...I know the infamous Detective 26 etc. However while the inside  promotes Cap one coming out on Dec 20 Newstand I believe the inside front cover,that AD it a  refers to the reader to page 44...this reference is the key here, and the true first appearance of Cap and Bucky...in full page color appears, not a reproduction . You can reference this confirmation by Marvel and the outstanding omnibus edition "Timely's Greatest : The Golden Age Simon and Kirby" book. There description acknowledges as CA First Print appearance. It was the announcement of Cap's Club in full color. HT#3 (2) is clearly the must undervalued  GA comic book out there.

 Agree or Disagree if you disagree what is it?   

PS: somebody just paid $3.12 Million dollars the second apperance of Captain America....and I just love Cap #1 as one of my Favs of the GA, but HT 3(2) is a real bargain!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HT #3 sells for a great deal more on average than Crime Does Not Pay #22. When it comes to being undervalued for the historical role it’s had and the fact that CDNP #22 achieved for the crime genre what Action Comics #1 did for the superhero, there’s no comparison. CDNP #22 is more undervalued than HT #3.

I also remember that Batman appeared in a panel saying coming next month and that was in color and an original image...was that Tec 26? I would ad that anyone can confirm and have an image. If so I would ad that to the list of undervalued books.

Detective 26 only has a text ad previewing Batman.  Action 12 has the Bob Kane drawn Batman ad, his first published appearance.  Not cheap but likely undervalued.

To me Young Allies #1 is the quintessential World War 2 funny book. While it is not a cheap book, I have always felt it doesn’t get the respect that it deserves. It has been a goal of mine to get my first ever copy of YA1 and I finally achieved that this year.

1. 1st Appearance and Origin of Young Allies. 
2. 1st (?) and only (?) Red Skull and Hitler cover?
3. 1st Team-up of Captain America and Human Torch 
4. Wall to wall nearly 64 pages of Young Allies Nazi bashing with most pages containing either Red Skull or Hitler.
5. Electric ⚡️ Jack Kirby WWII splashes in spades.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a spike in this issue after this post. WOW, golden age MAGIC!

Though not dirt cheap anymore (this copy sold for $288,000 last April), the first time the words SUPERMAN COMICS appear on the cover of a comic book is this ashcan edition.  If it changes hands 2-3 times in the next 10 years - it's a million dollar book.

Mentioned earlier but the Timely/Atlas failed limited revival started with this issue and it’s been really doing little for awhile now. It’s not Showcase #4 but probably deserves better than what it’s got considering other prices increases as a whole. Great cover too IMO…

 

Maybe one day collectors will pay it more attention?

who needs the big screen you can see him every week on Stargirl!! I like this a show a lot we watch with the whole family it doesn’t take itself too seriously so it’s a breath of fresh air compared to most DC big screen stuff.

Of all the comic characters created over the years I think the Geoff John’s Stargirl is among one of the best stories of how someone gave a tribute to a lost family member or friend. I was happy to see the character get a series. Bittersweet for sure…
