It's surprisingly hard to think of too many series that had *consistently* great covers. Probably stems from the journeyman nature of the business... artists were constantly being rotated through lots of different titles. (And from the publishers' standpoint, if an artist feels like they 'belong' to a title, they're gonna want more money!)

With that said, Planet Comics (1940s-1950s) deserves a shout out. Easily 1/2 to 2/3rds of the run are great covers, and not too many clunkers.

100% agree. 73 issues and what, maybe all but 10 strike one as “gotta have”?

I’d venture to say that for GA collectors this title is in the discussion for most popular non-superhero title. Perhaps certain EC’s are more popular (?) but the appeal of this title seems to have taken off last 5-10 years.

Maybe, but Planet and ECs, back even in the Stone Age of collecting were always “table books” while their lessor competitor counter parts were relegated to unbagged boxes under the table. Most of those have taken off to the moon over time as well.

Absolutely. Back in the 70s, ECs, as well as Carl Barks Duck comics, were extremely hot books.

This Hulk series (1999) is pretty cool, and here's the first 11 issues.  #s 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 11 are really something to behold in hand (the colors!), but they all have their charm.  I have 12 through 50, too, but just trying to give a sense here.  Many of those covers also have an interesting color scheme. 1-11, in order (old dark pix, sorry):
