As more non-hobbyist are attracted to the industry, the sleaze factor has certainly increased. I meet more and more dealers who can discuss values and price trends, but can't tell me which issues of Thor  Simonson worked on.  Big money and no passion for their inventory results in some taking shortcuts.

No , no, if you read my prior post, I'm definitely not claiming high grade , as I stated , no , nowhere near that ...they needed work, its why i chose Heroes , supposedly the best ..........these were Filipino foreign editions ....the X-men 100 has a split it didnt have ..... the whole batch was never worked on as stated they were ......and now admitted to not being touched ...

@Hero Restoration - since you’ve been such a delight in this thread, I wonder how many of your former employees left because you’re an insufferable boor to work for.

As a firm believer in karma, your current life circumstances are starting to make a whole lot more sense to me. Your cavalier attitude about committing what appears to be a number of crimes is truly appalling.  I only hope you find a way to do better by your customers and find some personal redemption in the process.

I was reading just before CGC Mike scrubbed the thread, and there wasn't much insight to the ones that he got rid of. Mostly name calling and masking swears in observational musings. One post that was removed was calling Wolvie a liar, with a few images regarding emails where Wolvie was asking where his books were (in a polite, straight-forward way). I think it was HR's way of refuting what Wolvie was saying by justifying that HR wasn't ignoring Wolvie since the emails happened over the weekend. Smattering it with masked swear words is what got it scrubbed. The overall essence of that particular post was the HR took three days to respond to Wolvie's emails. No real damning evidence either way.

Let me "rephrase".  I must have quoted something bad. 

You have shown health records, stood strong on your belief of not working weekends and when called out that have offered up the excuse of, "What did you want me to do, have a third heart attack?"  What prevented you from working weekends and meeting your deadlines prior to your health issues?   The health issues come after the fact and are not the causation of your delays but seem to be a convenient excuse.  When it comes to not working weekends, there are many of us on these boards, myself included what would love not to work weekends or in the evening, but there we are getting the job done for our respective and chosen careers, because it must be so.  

I have absolutely no sympathy nor empathy for you in that area.   You should have been working nights and weekends to keep up with the intake that you, yourself designed.  The minute you knew that you had taken on too much work and could not meet your own turnaround times you should have changed that policy or stopped taking on new work.  That is when your "business" became a "hobby."

Again, you do not want to work weekends.  Then why take on additional work putting yourself further behind?  The whole thing stinks in all directions.  

You really should do your best to pay off the people you owe money to and not hide behind a terms of service that you, yourself breached.   You are VERY lucky that you do not have an angry group of people knocking on your door.

It's funny, because obviously this has come up in private discussion both on and off the boards. When I mentioned, that if he owed me a few thousand, I would have shown up at his door or made his life "difficult", your name was also brought up as someone that would have done the same. However, I think it is very well understood what would happen if he had taken business from and crossed certain people.  There have been quite a few people I personally know have done worse over less and a couple of whom are members on these boards.

No one was willing to speak up about Zero Restoration before Kamenliter created this thread. That is so astonishing. If I had incurred any of the losses similar clients who have shared their stories here,  I'd have broadcasted it in every corner of the comic scene. Kamen should be proud that he's allowed to not only get some people's books returned, but also shine light on this canker sore in the comic space.

@Hero Restoration is one of those guys who arrogantly assumes that he is capable of adding business value to a hobby he enjoys, just because he's a big fan. Sort of like those guys we all knew who thought they could become a successful game designer just because they played video games all day. Turns out sucking your thumb and reading comics doesnt qualify as business expertise in high end collectibles. It takes a little more than that. Mike you are almost everything wrong with this hobby. The unbridled snark, arrogance, and nuclear-level incompetence has truly been something to witness as someone who has the privilege of not having been affected by your devious business practices. You are so damn lucky that you established a clientele of people who are A) not local to you and B) nonviolent. You know what I'm getting at

I'm not trying to be purposefully insensitive here, but what kind of strenuous physical work is involved in doing restoration on a comic book?
