Because one of your customers is claiming his books were high grade and you claim they weren't.  Clearly one of you is lying or at best incorrect.  I for one would like to know who's correct.

No , no, if you read my prior post, I'm definitely not claiming high grade , as I stated , no , nowhere near that ...they needed work, its why i chose Heroes , supposedly the best ..........these were Filipino foreign editions ....the X-men 100 has a split it didnt have ..... the whole batch was never worked on as stated they were ......and now admitted to not being touched ...

I agree that it is a shame.  However, this forum has a terms of use.  I can't allow such posts to remain in the thread.  People can repost without the name calling and masking of profanity words.

I was reading just before CGC Mike scrubbed the thread, and there wasn't much insight to the ones that he got rid of. Mostly name calling and masking swears in observational musings. One post that was removed was calling Wolvie a liar, with a few images regarding emails where Wolvie was asking where his books were (in a polite, straight-forward way). I think it was HR's way of refuting what Wolvie was saying by justifying that HR wasn't ignoring Wolvie since the emails happened over the weekend. Smattering it with masked swear words is what got it scrubbed. The overall essence of that particular post was the HR took three days to respond to Wolvie's emails. No real damning evidence either way.

If this thread has taught me one thing, it's that any credible COO should have a multicolored email sig line.

I was more surprised that a guy ironing comics in his garage would even have a COO who was a different person.

100%. I could add to that but I'd get a vacation.

It's funny, because obviously this has come up in private discussion both on and off the boards. When I mentioned, that if he owed me a few thousand, I would have shown up at his door or made his life "difficult", your name was also brought up as someone that would have done the same. However, I think it is very well understood what would happen if he had taken business from and crossed certain people.  There have been quite a few people I personally know have done worse over less and a couple of whom are members on these boards.

So they weren't touched, but a split magically appeared that's his fault? hm

An opinion not worth a short vacation isn't much of an opinion.  Say what you mean, and mean what you say.

A short vacation won't kill you, and what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.

No one was willing to speak up about Zero Restoration before Kamenliter created this thread. That is so astonishing. If I had incurred any of the losses similar clients who have shared their stories here,  I'd have broadcasted it in every corner of the comic scene. Kamen should be proud that he's allowed to not only get some people's books returned, but also shine light on this canker sore in the comic space.

@Hero Restoration is one of those guys who arrogantly assumes that he is capable of adding business value to a hobby he enjoys, just because he's a big fan. Sort of like those guys we all knew who thought they could become a successful game designer just because they played video games all day. Turns out sucking your thumb and reading comics doesnt qualify as business expertise in high end collectibles. It takes a little more than that. Mike you are almost everything wrong with this hobby. The unbridled snark, arrogance, and nuclear-level incompetence has truly been something to witness as someone who has the privilege of not having been affected by your devious business practices. You are so damn lucky that you established a clientele of people who are A) not local to you and B) nonviolent. You know what I'm getting at

@Hero Restoration

You have shown health records, stood strong on your belief of not working weekends and when called out that have offered up the excuse of, "What did you want me to do, have a third heart attack?"

I'm not trying to be purposefully insensitive here, but what kind of strenuous physical work is involved in doing restoration on a comic book?

Well this thread just reiterates that for once I made a good decision by deciding to learn how to press my own books. But also I'll add that though hero has certainly not presented himself very well in this conversation he did actually have a great idea by if I understand it right making book restoration into an assembly line type process. The problem seemed to be the human element of the equation and also the same thing I learned years ago when I went with a start up business, that you need money in the bank to be able to absorb whatever unforseen difficulties arise.

Gustave Dore's (the engraver) work was so in demand in the 19th century, in order for him to keep up with demand and produce artwork on time, he had employed 40 different artists to create a production line to pump out his engravings - and he oversaw the entire process as to never sacrifice the quality of his work.

That was a time where people's vocation was important to them, and they took pride in what they produced. Things are very different in 2023, and people even more so - like you had said. If you are going to create an assembly line of restoration experts (which I also think is a good idea), you probably have to have everything on-site and constantly overseen. I wouldn't say it's impossible, but finding the people who are passionate enough about it, happy with the pay and the personal satisfaction of working all the time makes that pretty challenging. The unfortunate part is that the theory of the assembly line process seems to have been executed using other people's money and books. Despite Wall Street doing shenanigans like this, for the small guy - I think it might be a little harder to do.
