(calls back)

"Hello, United States FBI, How can I help you?"

"Sorry, we must have been disconnected. Did you say $5000 comic books?"

"Woah, potentially 350 books? Over a million dollars in value?"

"Wow-wee! I remember when comics only used to cost a dime!"

"And potentially hundreds of victims across the USA?"

"And most, if not all, the trade in these books was over the Internet?"

"Okay, please hold"

"Hello, this is the Internet Crime Complaint Center, AKA IC3, how can we help?"

"Yeah, just file a complaint at ic3.gov"

"We'll get on that right after we arrest his guy who posted some memes"

"I know... but it's what our boss wants"

Right! I mean the ASM 300's I get but 194's? Random!

Speaking of which I just saw today that CGC upcharged a couple of my books from Modern to High Value. Which normally is a good thing but guess what one of those books is? And I can't see the grade yet but I presume it will be a 9.8 given the upcharge

Why isn't cert # 4343218005 on the list if 4343218001, 4343218002, 4343218003, and 4343218004 are all on the list?

And why that color of nail polish?

ps - that the actual CGC pic for that cert#. Don't think I've ever seen that on a book image

The scammer is probably on the phone with CGC telling them the books are good, just cross them off the list.

Well, they did fall for it before.

isn't that the FF 4, 7.5, that is in Briva3's previous sales on eBay?

The little cynic on my shoulder is saying "Yeah, I'm betting dollars to doughnuts, all those scammer books with 9.6's in them are going to be cleared through as "actual" 9.8's and shipped back. I mean hey, why actually do the work, or pay out to compensate for loss when you can just tell people whatever you (and they) want to believe?"

That’s what I was thinking too. If borderline 9.6-9.8, retain 9.8, otherwise they will have to payout and they aren’t going to do that.

would be nice to see before and after grades.

I believe so. I just took all the certs from his eBay listings and looked up the other books within each submission to see if every cert from each submission is on the list...and they aren't.

Yes it is. How could that book be in the clear already? I mean, I can conceive of how, but this is exactly the kind of documentation this should be calling for.

From the submission below the only cert on the list is 4277700004. Why?

4277700004    asm 252
4277700001    spider-man 1
4277700002    asm 252
4277700003    asm 252
4277700005    killing joke
4277700006    batman 442

The others may already be verified as OK? I mean the Batman is a 9.0, certainly looks OK to me, CGC might even have the original images to verify. Not all books are bad, probably tried to slip in a few good ones of course.

About 100 pages ago, I went through around 100 of the submissions. The dude had a submission into CGC practically every 2 weeks from the summer of 22 to now. Usually 5 books each, all of them huge. the odd 6 book or 4 book outlier.

I think they're only putting up the ones that were reholders and/or custom label jobs.

Yeah, but if the books are on one submission with the same grade dates they would either all be reholders, or none. You retain your original grade date on a submission for a reholder but not for a regrade.

Does anyone here actually think this hurts the current value of their own CGC books they currently own?

Please quote me so I can ask you the next question.
