Got absolutely roasted this round. Very confused by some of the grades tbh. No mention of the stain on the back of Strange Tales? 9.2 with corner wear, stress lines and “light” foxing on JLA? Unmentioned corner bend on the Spotlight 9.6? Lot of head-scratchers imo. And here I thought I was getting pretty good at grading 7.5+ books…

Would not surprise me. The standards (albeit largely ambiguous) for the GA comics are different. I am almost always basing my observations of copper/bronze era

Just getting to the reveal.  Was doing pretty good out of the gate...first 3 books .2 off = 3 points...4th book the Transformers I went 9.0 = 2 points and then got nose-punched on the Supe 50 went 9.4  for 4 points = total 9 points.  Ugh.  At least I didn't go double digit points.  Congrats to anyone with a 6 or less on this round.

No, but JLA I had at 8.5 and MS6 I gave a 9.0

I had the JLA as an 8.0.  This may be a new single round record!  I can't wait for the stats to be posted!  16 points

Round 2 - 8 points - Got destroyed by JLA #42 - 8.0 - (9.2) 3 pts and Marvel Spotlight #6 - 9.0 - (9.6) 3 pts.

You mean this?  Yeah, that's a moisture stain if I've ever seen one.

WOW!  What the hell!!!???

I don't have a clue what I was looking at when I graded Superman #50. Score 11 that round for me with a big 5 on Supes alone!  

I am pretty much in agreement with everyone else on the other books. Very tough round!

I was fine until eyeing that Superman book, I thought perhaps NM as well for it, or I just didn't do due diligence, like at all

Four points with two bullseyes.  Got 2 points on Transformers as I guessed 9.8, being lenient on the spine ticks as I thought CGC was going that way.  Not this time!

I saw two moisture stains on that book  . I undergraded the Spotlight by 3 points and , undergraded the Strange Tales by 2. Got  the other 3 right (which was a miracle;) .  I'm going back to my original  plan, hide my glasses and do not blow up the books;). I only need glasses for very fine print, so I guess wearing them is not helpful and I'm with @Get Marwood & I I still find the glare distracting.

Seriously...over the years I've been told that certain chief graders lowered grades for certain defects, Steve hated one thing and Mark another (don't remember which was which, but one was water damage and the other was stains)...I think we are in a "I just love all books equally phase;)"....maybe;)

On the other hand, I know Mike works very hard on these contests,  so I thank him...nothing is going to be perfect and there are some really good graders here, so I'm always hoping/happy to stay in the top 50%...if possible.
