Jon,

Wow, its quite impressive to hear that you are complete on a run of Marvel Comics Marvel Mystery, Marvel Tales #1 to 100. I've been working on the run for almost ten years and I have been able to get about half the issues. I think #1-5 will out of my price range in the near term. How long did it take you to complete the run? Scans of MM 15, 40, 44 and MT 93, 94, 95 would be appreciated.

Thanks, Vern

Please post the Yellow Jacket run. Those are some of the all-time best covers.

Thanks

Did you have to go after each one by itself, or were you able to get a couple at the same time. Basically, I am wondering how scattered the run had become over time before you put it back together? If it had become broken, aside from the insanely high grades on those MH, I find it neat and interesting that you were able to reunite them. Congrats thumbsup2.gif

Also, a general question. Your run is from # 48 to 57 which is the traditional GGA Blue Beetle definition. Why is it that both 46 and 47 that sport GGA artwork are left out. Is it simply because it's a different (at least it seems) artist on those earlier covers? Can someone confirm my hunch? RHG, are you planning on (or do you have) getting those issues as well?

That's a beautiful set.

Oh well. I was hoping to own at least one of the MH copies from that run one day. At least I know now to change that expectation and I'm glad I didn't bid on the 52 in Heritage - I'm sure I would have driven up the price only to lose it.

Because those girls aren't as "big" as the girls on the rest of the run, they aren't as good. confused-smiley-013.gif

I bought the Church run (including nos. 56 and 57, which I didn't post) over the course of several years from different sources.

#46 is not considered part of the run because it is not drawn by Kamen. #47 is by Kamen, but doesn't have the classic "good girl" style of the other covers.

Here's another short title I completed just a couple of months back. There was an issue # 1 under E.C. and the title continues under Atlas/Marvel with # 2-4. All have a Blonde Phantom apperance.

Great Sun Girl run!

Always loved the subway cover on #2. (Actually, being a NYer I'm a fan of all the subway cover comics...Vault of Horror #30, Marvel Mystery #9, etc. That could be a thread in itself....) 893scratchchin-thumb.gif
