Wonderful cover! Hmmm...kind of looks like another washtone, yathink?

Best story: Murphy Anderson's DEVIL'S ISLAND OF SPACE - really nice Murph!

Definitely a washtone.

I'm down to 6. Can't believe I'm getting so close!

This issue marks Murphy Anderson taking over the inking on MIS covers.

This has a really cool Adam Strange story, which includes the first appearance of the Dust Devils.

Not a Mystery in Space, but it does have Adam Strange.

And it should be in the running for one of DC's top Silver Age covers...

Dude, that's just mean! I want those so bad.

Once I finished my Flash run (105-350), Adam Strange became my new obsession. I haven't gotten any of the Showcases yet and still need 11 MiSs to get 53-91.

They are pretty cool. Bought two copies of this issue raw in Chicago, one from Nelson Dodds that came back a 7.5 and this one from Marc Nathan. I'm very happy with it (thumbs u

So I read the book last night. Sekowsky did a decent job (he draws a nice Alanna), but for some reason Adam's costume is all red (unlike on the cover), which looks completely ridiculous. And clearly both Kane and Sekowsky were having trouble remembering exactly how to draw Adam's costume, because the strip down the side of his leg is alternately missing, colored red, or in a couple of cases colored white.

And in the first story Adam doesn't even have a jet pack, although it mysteriously appears in the second story.

I love early appearances!
