very nice

Thnx Bronty - as much as I do enjoy the books, I'm hardly the DC pre-hero expert. Here's my gut take on the NA 16 thru 20 mini-run:

NA 16 - most desirable, scarce

NA 17 - scarce to rare

NA 18 - scarce

NA 19 - most available

NA 20 - not so desirable, but scarce

NA 25 - scarce to rare, and possibly rare

Excellent analysis! :applause: Always was curious about the rarity of the NAs. So few trade hands, it's hard to judge.

But, we can't leave off the beginning and ending of the run, though they tend to be lower demand.

Start:

NA 12 - scarce to rare, key first issue! Seems overlooked.

NA 13 - Rare - rarest issue in the run? I know, I know, what about the #26?!?

NA 14 - scarce, lower demand. One of the more common issues, stuck between two of the tougher issues.

NA 15 - rare, just never see this issue for sale.

NA 15 - rare, just never see this issue for sale.

Probably more scarce to rare, IMHO - I've seen 'em (including a copy just last Sunday!).

Finish:

NA 30 - scarce, more common issue.

NA 31 - scarce, more common issue.

Cool books to be sure, but maybe not even scarce (uncommon?). (shrug)

Since we're going through NA 12 thru 31, I'll stick my neck out and take a stab (more like a guess) at New Comics 1 thru 11. Other opinions welcome!

New Comics

1 - scarce but available desirable first issue, pricey too

2 - rare

3 - scare to rare or rare

4 - scarce to rare or rare (last paper cover and desirable baseball cover)

5 - scarce

6 - scarce to rare

7 - scarce to rare

8 - scarce

9 - uncommon (most available)

10 - scarce to rare

11 - scarce to rare

Haven't actively collected NAs in a long time, so was a guess. #15 seems tougher to find, but you're probably right - similar scarcity to the #16. #31 seems more common than #30, but both are just "uncommon" when compared to rest of run.

Also, tough to distinguish between scarcity and higher demand - not a lot of NAs make it to market.

Now I am not boring....

What a beautiful run Jon. :applause:

Since we've gone to the trouble of listing the scarcity of 1-31, here's the rest of the pre-hero books in the title:

32 - scarce, somewhat higher demand because it is the first issue of "Adventure Comics" and it has one of Flessel's best covers as well.

33 - scarce

34 - scarce, slightly higher demand

35 - scarce

36 - scarce to rare, high demand

37 - scarce, somewhat higher demand, perhaps because the cover was used for Double Action #2.

38 - scarce

39 - scarce, high demand

This is territory that I feel a bit more comfortable in, and I agree with your calls Peter. (thumbs u

Surprisingly, New Comics seem much more common (or at least available) versus most New Advs or pre-#40 Adventures!

I think both CL and Heritage had NC #2 in their recent Nov auctions!
