I'm astounded that this issue contains a 12 page story, something I wasn't aware of for an early 1937 comic book (image off the net, not from my copy):

notice the kid on the left sniffin Xray vision. Yum yum. Regarding the 78, maybe the crew was on vacation so the superheroes had to step in
