    I closed out the 700's yesterday with 761 - Howdy Doody (a book whose cover weirded out my 9-year old lol )

That's now 48 to go on the second series with closed out: 300's, 400's, 600's, 700's, 900's and 1,000's. Am one away to closing the 500's (571), 800's (827) and 1,100's (1173). Longest continuous run is 345 issues strong.

Thanks to everyone for keeping the thread alive.

345 in a row is quite impressive,  but even more so is that you are only 3 issues away from over 900  in a row

Down one more. This one is emblematic of the disease of collecting. Since it reprints comic strip material that I have available across multiple hardcover collections of Captain Easy and Wash Tubbs, I really do not need it for its content. Same with the D_ick Tracy issues, etc. *sigh*. That said, happy to have it as this is my first Dell with the cool logo on the cover :)

Nice!  I know what you mean about double dipping (or worse) on the material.

I picked up two more issues today, bringing the total I need (for series II) down to 68 issues.

It's great watching you guys collect this varied and very large run. Having been pretty much priced out of American comics, I'm tossing up on whether to have a run at the nearest Australian equivalent - the G series (G for Giant - though only the first half dozen issues were more than 32 pages) published by W. G. Publications from 1952. Unlike the Four Color series, it only had the Disney titles because other publishers had the rights to Warner Bros, MGM, Prince Valiant, Twilight Zone etc. Many of the film adaptations appeared in the FP (Film Preview) series rather than G. Another difference is that Uncle Scrooge never broke out into his own series here, so they are all in the G run. Overall there are still 699 G books to collect and the early ones are seriously tough to come by in any grade, due to a combination of small print runs and newsprint covers. I have 144 of the books to date, and I'm starting to better appreciate the effort required to collect over 1300!

I thought I'd show you a few (corresponding FC numbers in brackets).

I just got a shipment  in from Heritage  with my assortment of wins since about the beginning of the year.  Most of them  are the 4GEMs  that I was able to snag.  Have not seen any offerings  from him in a few weeks.  Wonder if he is done selling off all of them,  or if they are taking a break.

Most excited  to  see, and check off the last key book in the run.  Series 1  Issue  1  Tracy.  This is an issue  that I almost never see anywhere and they had 2  copies  opening at the same time  An Unrestored 2.5  and an Extensive restored  5.0 which closed much earlier.  I put in a semi strong bid for the 5.0  fully expecting to be out bid, To my surprise no one bid live  and I won that copy.

The Unrestored  later closed for only 100 more.  Not sure which was a better value.

Here are a couple of CGCd  Four Colors I have added since the beginning of the Pandemic.

Not really used to the new all-in-one printer I got last year, especially  on slabbed books
