I REALLY WANT THE SUSPENSE #3, BUT MY WIFE WILL KILL ME!

Ok, so I have found many of your comments funny and enlightening. So here it is, my wife has given me the ok upto 4000.00 so, I guess we will see. The reserve is off now and its at 3500, so I have a feeling I am going to have to wait for another copy. I really didn't want to go over 3500, maybee 3800.00 so I have some thinking to do.

Oh, and I would not risk a divorce for a comic book. I have been known to *spoon* her off, but not divorce. I could have worse habits, like porn,drugs, hookers ect..., so comics are not that bad. I even make money on them sometimes.

 

Make a full color copy of the Suspense #3 that Heritage auctioned off a few months ago, and then take the $3,500 you were going to spend and take a week long vacation in Hawaii and enjoy yourselves! hi.gif

 

Screw Hawaii, go to Antarctica!

I hear, ya..I guess I was sounding the whole mess out. Its seams a safe forum for that. I mean you didn't shout it out on the MM9..a book that I would prefer over the Suspense #3, but out of respect for you I would not have bid. My feeling is that while someone may snipe at 4100, which is probably 300 more than I will bid anyway, its still more than I am willing to pay. So they deserve it if they will pay it. Maybe the logic is lost somewhere, but I don't care mainly cause I am wishy washy beyond the 3500 mark anyways. There are a lot of great books I can get for 3500, so its kinda of a wiegh out the benifits deal for me at this time. Conversely my boasting could have scared a few away, not that it did....still at 3500, but when I started the thread it was 2950, then I bid it to 3050, next morning 3500.00......The thing is for this kinda of money its got to be fun, first and formost fun. If I win, then great, if I don't fine..I can think of 10 books I want to have right now. Snipe or not, the price will most likely end up over 4k.

I find it hard to believe there would be folks willing to spend 4k on a book just to spite a poster, and the common thread here seams to be congradulatory twords others wins and support. It seams there is a great respect for those trying to complete runs or series with dilagence. There always other copies, and patients is key, waiting for "your" deal, the one which makes you comfortable.

I lost on 3 Caps this week, and won only one. Missed the 47,68,71, tried on all, but lost in the snipe. The common thread is I bid my max for that day, I did win the 59...but my point is I didn't tell my intentions to anyone and I still didn't win the majority, because I capped myself at a price I was willing to pay.

Anyway, I see everyone's point...but I don't feel that it would change anything. I will win, or I won't in the end the highest bidder will win, If that is me then so be it, if not.. fine as well.

It was just unusual to see someone lay it all out like that...Heck, I'm crazy, so if everyone thinks you are a bit eccentric, then fine, that'll make 2 of us (except I'm not eccentric - just crazy - I am poor so I am not allowed in the "eccentric" caste), either way, Welcome!

Buy the book, you can always get another wife - The suspense 3 is worth 10x that price.
I hope your wife doesnt read your posts

 

My wife doesn't care about comics for money, she loves me unconditionally - my girlfriend though reads the posts and laughs smile.gif

To much for me, I dicided on a cap of 3800.00 and walked away after it went passed that mark, I was pretty sure it was going to go over 4k, but I didn't think it go as high as 4500, not that I am suprised.

Actually my joke was a little more sinister in it's implication that you actually owned the book and were hyping it......I got to rephrase some of my jokes
