Flash even got left out of the Captain Action/Action Boy line of toys back in the mid 60's. I think the only DC characters they did were Superman, Batman and Aquaman. Action Boy had Superboy, Robin and Aqualad. Hard to believe Aqualad beat out Flash or Kid Flash for a place in the line, but oh well.

Amazing. I find it hard to believe no action figures from the 70s.

Right? And yet...not much for us Flash fans to track down prior to 1984. Sad.

Time to celebrate: 60 years ago this month (on Dec. 7, 1961), this classic hit the stands. One of my favorite Flash covers.

Always loved the mirror master colors in the logo for this one. Nice pick-up

Also in that same month, DC put out this full page explanation of the price increase from 10 cents to 12 cents. Some things never change!

That really put a kink in a kid's pocket money

I thought maybe there might be some earlier Flash toys, but nothing I can find. However, I did manage to find this Aurora model kit box that I can’t find much info on other than it might have been made in the 80’s by someone trying to create the look and feel of an Aurora kit from the 60’s if they had made it, (just the box, not an actual model kit).

Several of these "fantasy" boxes have been made.  A "What If Aurora Had Made..." scenario.  There were no kits just the boxes.
