They are a lot fun, though I'm especially fond of the ones with Everett Sub-mariner stories.

Never seen that one before - being a Civil War buff, I'd be especially interested in the Brady story... is it all comics, or do they actually print photographs too?

Yea, its mostly comics but there are 16 pages of war photos and text at the center. All the comics have something to do with war effort photographers. Below is a sampling plus the Brady story in whole.

Just a general comic book story of course, but the first actual war photographers were British during the Crimean war (1855).

 

In today's digital age, it's amazing to think how far we've come from the oldest surviving photograph (1827, Paris France, IIRC).
