SAN DIEGO COMIC_CON

I'll be at the SDCC again this year (7th year in a row). I'll be there on Preview Night and on Saturday, but will probably miss the Forum Dinner on Saturday as my friend is throwing his bachelor party that evening. :sorry:

I have been to all (now) 38 San Diego Comicons. These days you can find me at Booth 5414 right at the B door entrance to the Gold Pavilion - on the right hand side as you enter.

One of the high lights i am honored to unveil this year is Jerry Bails All Star Comics run which includes some Church & Larson copies. here is a teaser:

go over to the GOLD thread and click on JERRY'S ALL STARS for a front and back cover wonderland of this seminal DC title which borught together most of the DC universe in the 40s

So is there any news on whether or not Leinil Yu will be there this year? If so, would it increase my Mighty Avengers #1 variant's worth if it was signed?

:gossip: Second collum last name, appears to be a big YES!!!

Yes! I'm probably oblivious to it, but does it say what days he'll be there?

(And if he signed it, that would increase my comic's worth, right?)

It looks like he will be there all four days, he will be a booth JJ-05 in Artists' Alley.

As far as comic worth if signed, that I really can not say.... (shrug)ENJOY.

Wouldn't writing on a comic REDUCE its value?

Guys I just wanted to know if there was a train or Amtrack I could take from Charlotte to San Diego for a very cheap price? I don't want to wast money on airfare, so that I can buy more comics. Is there a way? I know that the trip would be long and boring as hell but I do not care. I would be very appreciative of any information you could give me.

Thank You

That's 71 hours! Three days! You might save money to buy more comics, but by the time you get there all the comics will be sold!

I don't know about you guys, but to me, San Diego is much more about the experience of it all moreso than just a venue to buy comics. Sure, lose a little "comic money" with a flight, but as I just stated, the experience of the San Diego con is much more than a place to just aquire more books.

Can someone buy me a G.I. Combat #87 please? :wishluck: It looks like my avatar. I'm willing to pay double Overstreet. Either that or PM me if you see one.

Thanks and wish I could go....

Thanks! I bought the first one. The 2nd one went too high for the grade. The third one I have high res. scans and this book is ugly. Mind you, I'll buy it if the price is right. I will buy all I can ever locate....if the price is right. So, for me, double guide or less, that's a price I'm willing to pay. Thanks again for the heads up. (thumbs u

Does anyone have any slick ideas how to get a one day pass for Saturday? I snoozed and let this get past me somehow (I remember being able to drive down to SD on Saturday's and get passes day of the show - a friend of mine reminded me that was like 4 years ago :baiting:) I managed to get one pass off the website today but was shut out when I went to get one for my wife. I guess she could always go ride Shamoo or something. :juggle:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Going to the show Saturday sucks. I been going to SD for over 16 years and I say for the last 4 years I haven't bothered to go on a Saturday. Its too crowded and not worth it.

However if you must go on Saturday, go later in the day, about 3 hours before it closes. The morning rush is over and people start to leave and you can usually score a one day pass from someone who is leaving(this actually works for any day).
