Email 11-14...

I am not going to bother to quote them here... but there are two more rounds of "lighthouse explains the situation and asks if he needs to refax" and "ebay responds with I don't know what you are talking about"

Email 15:

Us to them:

Okay, this is becoming very frustrating.

I would ask that whoever receives this email please read ALL of the

quoted

material below. PLEASE do not just stop after reading part of it. PLEASE

DO

NOT send me a form reply about our having sent the email from an address

not

associated with an eBay account.

In the quoted material below you will find:

---Documentation that the "tpbking" and "lighthouse_comics" user id's were

suspended in 2004.

---Documentation that in order for those id's to be reinstated there were

SNP

issues to resolve.

---Documentation that those SNP issues were resolved.

---Documentation indicating that in order to be reinstated we would need to

complete a Request for Reinstatement form and a Proof of Identity.

---Documentation that the Request for Reinstatement form was received and

was

approved.

---Documentation that the Proof of Identity was "blurry" and needed to be

resent.

---Documentation that neither my wife nor I has access to the email

addresses

previously connected to the user id's (because they were suspended 3

years

ago and we have moved twice).

---Documentation that we were advised by eBay that we would be able to

change

the registered email addresses once the accounts were reinstated, but

could

not do so before.

---Documentation that the Proof of Identity was resent both via fax and

email.

---And then a lengthy series of emails that do not address the question of

reinstatement. We have now received multiple emails telling us we must

contact you from the "registered" email address. But we have no access

to

that address and your staff has informed us we will be able to correct

the

email address once reinstated.

I cannot contact you from " tpbking@comcast.net" and my wife cannot

contact

you from "lighthousecomics@comcast.net" because those email addresses

are no

longer active. And I cannot change the registered email address because

my

account was suspended. So I am contacting from this email address, which

will be the correct one.

The gist of the current situation is this. We were told to resend our

Proof

of Identity forms. We did so. We have not heard back whether they came

through correctly. The accounts are still NLARU. Do we need to resend

the

Proof of Identity to be reinstated? Or is there something else we need

to

do?

Thanks

xxxxxxx

Any bets on what the reply was????

Oh come on... you know you want to bet...

I only ask because I used to frequent a store (about a 40 minute drive from here because the staff was better than TFAW or Excalibur or Ancient Wonders or Pegasus for that matter.)

Email 16: Finally good news????

Email 17: I have given up giving a real explanation... but again, remember I am quoting the entire conversation every time...

me to them:

WHAT?????

I receive an email from <cswebhelp@ebay.com>. I reply to that email. And you respond by telling me that the email I received was not sent by eBay?????

Do you have any idea how little sense that makes?

Please, whoever gets this email: read what is here. EVERY SINGLE EMAIL I AM QUOTING comes from either me, or eBay itself. Every one of them. Yet for some reason I keep getting replies like this one.

Email 18: I can't believe I got THIS reply...

Dear eBay user,

On 04/05/2007, we replied to an email message you sent to customer support. As part of eBay's commitment to excellence, we want to make sure our response met your needs. Would you please take a few minutes to answer some questions about your overall experience and the specific eBay Representative who responded to you?

Please respond to the survey by clicking on the following link; or copy and paste the entire web address into the address field of your browser.

http://surveys.benchmarkportal.com/ebay/...93-4D09FB32DBC0

If you contacted eBay from your registered email account, this invitation will be sent to both your email address and to My Messages. NOTE: This invitation will expire after five days.

Thank you for your help!

Email 19: I take a different tack... I ignore the last several emails and just reply to one from about a week ago instead, quoting the conversation up to that point and no further...

It's been nearly a week since I sent the id's the second time. Were they

received properly? Per your last email, the request for reinstatement

had

been approved and you were just waiting for new copies of the photo

id's.

Thanks

Email 21: I take another shot... this time replying to a different email in the chain...

I will fax another copy of the licenses. I will print them at normal size, plus enlarge them so they are easier to read if that helps.

In your email you recommended that we contact you from the registered email addresses for our accounts. As stated in the various emails, these accounts were suspended back in 2004, and our emails have changed since then. Neither of us has access to the old email addresses that were associated with the account, and because we cannot log in to eBay, we cannot update.

I would request that you change them to:

tpbking ----------- tpbking@satx.rr.com

lighthouse_comics -------------- lighthousecomics@satx.rr.com

If that is something you can't do on your end, I suppose we can log in and change them once reinstated. My only concern will be that I am not 100% certain we both remember our eBay passwords. I am about 90% certain, but not 100...

I will fax the photo id's within the hour.

xxxxxxx

Then maybe they will tell me if they got the id's already or at least answer my question... 893crossfingers-thumb.gif

Open up a new account, call it lighthouse2, and get on with it. Probably take less time than the last 20 f'n emails and you will be "open for business" tomorrow!! 893applaud-thumb.gif

Believe me when I say that the customer service people responsible for NARU'ing duplicate accounts are FAR more efficient than the workers restoring them... And if they catch you going that route they will never release the original accounts... sorry.gif You can undo "bad contact info" , but you can't undo "I intentionally broke an eBay rule by registering an account while suspended"...
