About this journal

This is (as much as I can remember) a journal about my collection of Bloodshot books and the continuation of that collection as I set it for Registry.  Mostly, I will stick to the 2012 series, but I do have some pretty sweet Bloodshot: Reborn and Salvation books to boot. I also have the Bloodshot #12 1 of 1 (movie poster) which I will talk about some in this journal.

First off, I won't even attempt to set myself up for grandeur, I very much doubt there is anyone out there that would be interested in reading my story. I mean, they might, but more as a passing fancy, or simple curiosity.  Please excuse any and all grammar/spelling errors along the way.

I guess I found Valiant around 2015 at Emerald City Comic Con.  First book Dinesh Shamdasani handed me was The Valiant. That book set me on a path to read everything Bloodshot.  I started with Reborn, but after a while, NEEDED to go back and learn more. At that time, I hadn't submitted my first book to CGC, but that would happen soon enough.  I can't remember the first books I submitted, but I do recall the first LARGE submission I did.  45 books, and it spun my head (and my pocket book)! Since then, a steady stream of CGC purchases occured as well as submissions, but never in registry.

In late 2016 I purchased a copy of the Bloodshot #1 DMG Chinese variant, and from there my Bloodshot collection/obsession would take off. After receiving a 9.8 on that variant, and learning about the Registry, I collected up every Bloodshot (2012) book I had and submitted them. I want to say the first handful of Bloodshot books were of some rarer variants.  Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps #14 1:25 Grampa was a tough (and expensive) one to find, but luckily many were 9.8 candidates. BS#9 1:20 Androfszky was easy enough to find, but tough to land at 9.8.  Favorite was the Bloodshot #3 1:25 Lozi depicting Bloodshots blood to be gold.  This is often referred to as "The Goldies", as they are a manifestation of the microscopic Nanites that populate his body. These three, along with the Bloodshot #1 DMG Chinese version are the first to have been entered into my collection.

After those submissions, and checking to ensure I was doing things right, I learned/saw that it was possible to actually get close to 100%.  I will say, there are some demonds out there that will be nearly impossible to track down, and could present a serious problem financially.  Perfect example is the Bloodshot #25 1:25 Perlin and the 1:50 Hitch. To begin with, there are simply not very many of these books out there. While I don't have solid numbers, I would figure them to be close to 400 (maybe less) when the book was made. These two are so hard to track down, and even harder to track down in 9.8 range.  Because of it's black border, spine ticks are almost a regular occurrence on the Perlin. I've only ever seen one Perlin that might be considered to be a 9.8, many are simply 9.6 or less candidates. The Hitch are even harder to track down. There are only three in CGC, with only one of those being a 9.8.  Could there be a few of these out there in collections? Sure, but the longer they stay in those collections, the more chances they have to get dinged up.

As of Feb/March of 2019, I submit 9 more Bloodshot books specifically for the Registry.  While at ECCC in (March) 2019, I also submitted 9 more Sig Series books specifically for the Registry.  This latest order does have me a bit worried, but I feel like I have a good grasp on choosing winners, so I am hoping for the best.  The real kicker is that these books are easier to find in the wild, so if I do swing and miss, I have a pretty good chance on finding them again.
