  1. Just noticed in BLauren's thread. Geppi is a member of the Spawn #1 club!
  2. Slabbed or raw? All CGC except the #8 :hail: RikkiB on the prowl. OK, kids in bed, here come the books
  3. Coming up this evening. I think. I mean, I plan to, but can I really part with these books? Single-digit Spideys. 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 Nice books. I want to keep them
  4. Lots of places will print on canvas to order. I went to canvasdezign.co.uk. Cost £40 + postage.
  5. Posted in General but thought I'd drop a pic in this thread, as I just got me cool Spidey canvas: While I'm here, Count, did you win the lottery? I see you picking up a lot of sweet Spideys lately! As for the guy with the #2 and #3, those are just...
  6. They are just ignorant really. Don't know anything about slabs so just shoot their mouths off. Every forum is a ranting forum! In fact, these CGC boards are probably where I'm at my least offensive and opinionated (because I don't want to burn any bridges with potential comic sources)
  7. I'd have to be able to sell 'em to be one of those! Dealer in the house Am happy to stockpile 2000AD progs 1 and 2 if I can get them for under £20 and progs 71, 72, 77 and 78 if I can get them for a fiver I'm a 2000AD key hoarder Have you got the free gift that came with #1? I remember buying it when it came out - sold it many years later to chase the dragon of American comics! Never had the space spinner, or the biotronic stickers from prog 2! I would say I can't afford them, but considering what I've spent on certain American comics this last year that excuse doesn't really wash. Not sure how I'd store a prog 1 with spinner attached I see them on ebay sometimes in the region of £200, but some of those that I've seen were undoubtedly fakes, so I'd be v v cautious buying one...

  9. I tried to suggest a UK sub-forum for forum sales once. They all laughed at me You know what this board needs? More 2000AD:
  10. Did I say permananently...? And I'm not even drunk More importantly, why aren't Hellblazer back issues more highly valued than Sandman? 1) Started years before Sandman 2) Still running today! 3) Most of the series remains un-reprinted 4) Has had a movie starring Keanu (much as we wish it hadn't) i always wondered about that. i have never read Hellblazer but i did see the movie and thought it was pretty good. how does it compare to the comic? You might want to try out the Hellblazer videogame that was pretty interesting. I did pick up a second hand copy of the PS2 version, just for the sake of having 'anything Hellblazer', but never got around to playing it. Looked pretty generic, but I'll have to give it a try someday.
  11. But do the TPBs reprint the entire series in order? I haven't looked at one in quite awhile (I'll just re-read my ragged monthies when the mood strikes), but the one time I went to read the series in TPB form I recall some of the issue were out of order, I guess due to the fact that this was written before the "6 issue arc so we have a neat TPB to sell" mentallity was in place. Who has a handy list of the TPBs and the issues within? It's all there and in order EXCEPT for Fables & Reflections which reprints #29-31, 38-40, 50, Sandman Special #1 and Vertigo Preview #1. Everything up to #28, #32-#37, #41-#49 and #51 up all fit into nice arcs.
  12. Aha! Could be! I knew I'd seen a leering face raising a beckoning finger like that, and Wolerine LS #1 is what was at the back of my mind (thumbs u

I enjoyed it, I did. The movie is a quite fun in its own right, and has some really great turns by Tilda Swinton and Peter Stormare. But it isn't Hellblazer. Keanu's Constantine is nothing like the JC of the comics. Put it this way, in the movie Keanu was trying to earn a place in heaven by doing 'good deeds' *cough splutter*. JC would probably rather take his chances in Hell than kowtow to that stuck up miserable little ponce 'god', you get me? Furthermore the movie was way too entrenched in Catholic dogma. JC's universe is far more eclectic and mixed up, and has no special respect for any particular religion. A real Hellblazer movie (or better still a TV show) could be low-key, low budget, dark and irreverent, and bloody brilliant.

  15. Because 95% of Sandman's readership read it in TPB format, and the TPB's remain permananently in print. Oh yes, and in Absolute format too! I think this is why DKR and Watchmen back issues never really took off in value. A slabbed #1 in 9.8 will fetch a few hundred dollars mind you....
  16. Intriguing... I see a clown's face? Or maybe Venom??
  17. Maybe this will be a little tougher. Or maybe not! Name the book this distorted cover fragment is from: That actually looks pretty cool
  18. Thread resurrection anyone? Try this. Name the distorted slab:
