Apparently someone isn’t following the “one per customer” rule 

WTF? Why did they grade this? Much like the Sonic advertising insert, I don’t understand why partial books would get any kind of grade.

Everyone seems to have forgotten about this one.

Hey there folks. I came across this picture recently and am wondering why CGC grades these? It’s simply an ad from inside a comic book. Should it not get a NG instead of a number as it is technically incomplete?

When I bought mine on release date in 1991, the split was 50/50 on the dozens of copies I got from my LCS. I’ve noticed the same kind of split in the copies I keep finding locally. It’s an interesting variation, but don’t think there’s much of a difference between the two. The newsstand I don’t see that often.

They’re inverting the black and white for the 1:50 variant

Got these from a shop, but find them everywhere.

Oddly enough, picked these up yesterday. Overstreet mistakenly refers to the 75 cent versions as Whitman variants. They are just regular newsstand. I know, that’s where I bought mine as a kid.

Very 90’s. That would make it very apropos

Does anyone know when printing of comics shifted from Sparta, Illinois to Montreal, Quebec? I'm thinking out loud here, but that might help explain how Whitman distribution might have shifted to Canada.

It’s priced at 1.49, so the going rate for comics in Canada at the time. Funny thing is, three packs were selling for 1.59 and 1.69 in the States. 

Found this today. Reinforces my opinion that Marvel bagged comics aren’t Whitmans, but direct market. 

Spotted this in my inbox this morning. Can’t find the sale on EBay but it’s quite impressive. I think this is the rarest of the Whitmans. You really don’t see it very often. That price might change that. (On a side note, it drives me crazy that they say the Whitman version of the book. It was only published by Whitman)
