I just recently purchased this Brave and the Bold #157 Whitman variant. As I was looking it over, I saw it had a distributor mark on it. If these were originally sold polybagged, why is there this mark? Any ideas? Or am I misunderstanding the importance of distributor marks. Please ignore the construction hands.20210826_190044.jpg.fc81c79b9ad9f9932bf297df701751a7.jpg20210826_190040.jpg.297ba54f4b8c87340eb886be89ae8f41.jpg

From one of my sealed packs. That’s not overspray.

I don’t mean to hijack the OP’s thread, but I’ve been wondering much the same thing about this book:

This issue is supposed to have only been available in sealed packs, no newsstand distribution.  Yet the top right corner looks very much like it has gray distributor ink.

Any thoughts on what this is or why it’s there?

I've encountered a lot of Whitman books that have had grey markings like this. I wonder if they were remaindered. Some of them had the grey paint down the entire spine.

Time will tell, but I think the 1:100 will still be the bigger one of the two. I sold one of my 1:50s early on for $80 or $90 on eBay when there was a bit of a spike in demand, and still have the other one for now. I am just happy this book is taking off sooner than I expected it would. I based my spec buy on 2-3 year time horizon for something to happen with D+.

I think the Indigenous cover variant by Veregge that was an hommage to Moon Knight 29 is one that's flying under the radar of a lot of collectors. All black cover might make it a tough one to find in high grade.

Speaking of Invincible, I'm amazed at how the Larry's edition of #1 keeps creeping up more and more. I keep thinking it's going to pull back some but not yet. It'll be interesting to see how this paces out with the original Invincible #1. I sent one off to get a quick press though just to have one on hand when I think I'm ready to pull the trigger!

It’s crazy that people are paying that much for a reprint that came out almost a year later.
