  1. Heating up? I haven’t seen that, but all I’ve sold are very low grade non-keys.
  2. I’m certain that there was a big jump when the movie rights changed hands, but it seems to me that any current heat the title has is residual momentum. I don’t really qualify as an authority. I bought all my good stuff decades ago. I’ve never known the high grade or graded markets. But, my outside opinion is that, yes, there’s more interest than there used to be before the rights sale.
  3. If I ever widen my collection (again), I might just target circle 10s and 12s.
  4. Just one today. I’m behind on my pitcher takin’.
  5. How do you follow the biggest story? With a little one. A done in one character piece featuring virtually no superpowers. FF51 is thought by many to be the best single issue of the silver age. and the Black Panther is cool, too.
  6. My favorite TFTC cover! Wish I had one.
  7. Initially, I went to 150 plus annuals. Now? I’m consecutive 1 thru 4.
  8. The biggie. The greatest story arc of the silver age, Straw-man. The phrase “sense of wonder” gets applied to old comics frequently. They invented that phrase out of necessity, to describe this trilogy. I didn’t fact check any of that, but there’s a chance it’s true.
  9. I absolutely see your reasoning. Still, I keep thinking about Moldoff’s process. ”Ok, horror. Let’s think...we’ll want a werewolf, a vampire, a zombie...” A vampire story had to have been his first or second idea for a horror comic. That said, I’m positive that EC guys like Ed have put more thought into this than I. I’m just content that my Moon Girl 4 has the FIRST story from EC’s Tales of the Supernatural; a horror comic! 😄
  10. I find myself wondering why, with Triton and Gorgon there, Karnak is doing the heavy lifting?
  11. That’s Neal Adams’ fault? Didn’t know that.
  12. I owe you 4, but you’re getting 3. The show being bad doesn’t make these any less great.
  13. Dan’s money was delicious. Very fun transaction, great communication, fast payment. Thanks Spidey!
  14. Overstreet cites EC’s first horror story as “Zombie Terror” from Moon Girl 5. This is probably because Moon Girl doesn’t appear in that story. But they were all intended to be horror comics, so I think Moon Girl 4 edges it out. What say you?
  15. As I said in a previous post, I have a candidate for EC’s first Horror comic. This is not generally recognized as such by collectors. The history goes like this; Sheldon Moldoff pitches Bill Gaines an idea to do a horror comic under the working title of “Tales of the Supernatural”. Gaines OKs it, Moldoff produces four stories, and brings them in. Legal stuff gets in the way, and that comic doesn’t happen. Gaines does own the stories, so he publishes them in existing titles. The first story published is “Vampire of the Bayou”, in Moon Girl #4. Here’s the worst copy in the world!
  16. 2019’s underwhelming effort. I have ZERO time this year.
  17. Further research reveals that this is the Sept.-Oct. issue. I suspect a Halloween theme rather than horror.
  18. I’ve got some of these tucked away! Forgot about em!
